University of Texas linebacker Jake Ehlinger, the younger brother of former Longhorns quarterback Sam Ehlinger, was found dead Thursday, Austin police officials said.

Police said they received a call at 12:18 p.m. and found Jake Ehlinger in 1200 block of West 22nd Street. Authorities did not specify how they found him but did say his death is not considered suspicious.

No cause of death or other details were released.

So so sad. Sam and his mother have had tragic lives in a lot of ways. Prayers to them.

Holy shit.

Was thinking this as well. The way it’s framed lends itself to one explanation. Thoughts and prayers for the Sam and his mother, this is terrible.

RIP Jake, prayers to the family and team.

That poor family. The father died of a heart attack during a run, so maybe there is some genetic heart defects going on in that family? They said "not suspicious" Tragic.

Ehhhh. Think we can probably do the math on this one. Guess we'll find out, or hopefully we wont. None of our business. Fuck.

Not suspicious means it didn’t take much to figure out what happened.

Just cruel and horrible. I can’t stop thinking about Sam, Jake, and his mom’s hug last week after the draft call. Fuck. RIP

Pretty sure it was after a triathlon swim in the SF bay... little different. And he wasn't 20.

I think, in this case, Surly should refrain from unfounded speculation for a change.

Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
