May 6, 20214 yr This is terrible on so many levels. Very sad when a young man dies for whatever reason. Prayers for the family. This is beyond horrific.
May 6, 20214 yr Damn. That’s fucking terrible. Thoughts and prayers to the family. Tragic news. Fuck.
May 6, 20214 yr An unbelievable tragedy. I'm heartbroken for Sam and Jenna, Jake's UT teammates, fraternity brothers, Westlake teammates and friends. Just a terrible fucking gut punch for the UT and Westlake Communities.
May 6, 20214 yr God fucking dammit this sucks, like everyone else has said I really feel for Sam and his mom.

May 6, 20214 yr Popular Post There then gone. Hard to get your head around the death of the young. I recall watching the programs marking the 50 year anniversary of different events in WWII. Those 70 and 80 year old men crying their guts out in the cemetary at Normandy was so moving. At 70 you get the full picture of what a young man misses when he dies young. The Ehlingers have two such suddenly concluded timelines. They'll be haunted over the years as they mark what was missed. Some Thanksgiving in the 2040s will go quiet for a moment. Maybe there will be a chair simply left empty. It will become a reminder. Tears will flow or be fought back. It's not terribly rare, but, in every case, it must feel so intensely personal. And there is so little a stranger like me can do. I hope all goes as well as it can for the survivors. There's no getting around the fact that this is just bad. Keep moving, my friends.
