I have a soundbar in my side by side. I wired it where it is hot even with the key off. However, my kiddo has a penchant to leave it on after a ride. So, I want to wire a switch where I can toggle between "keyed on" and the other selection on the switch to be how I have it now.

What kind of switch do I need?

This guy can tell you what kind of switch you need for your kiddo that leaves the sound bar on.

You want a single pole, double throw switch. Either a two position so it would select either function or a 3 position that the center would be off.

Make sure the current rating is less than that of the sound bar.

Messed that up. Switch current rating > max speaker current.

What happens when your kid throws the switch and runs it down anyway?

See Post #2.

Go to abc. Tell them what you want to do. Make sure you order a cool missile switch and wire it up.
