May 16, 20214 yr If you are vaccinated stop wearing a mask. Masks are to protect other people more than yourself. You put a permanent mask on with the vaccine. Wearing a mask when you are vaccinated is just as bad as not wearing one when nobody was vaccinated. The CDC guidance is that vaccinated people don't need to wear masks even indoors, outdoors or anywhere except sealed tubes filled with people that recirculate air basically. Are all of you now saying the CDC doesn't know what it's talking about? That's as stupid as when they said masks are mandatory saying they didn't know. If you are vaccinated you need to move on and leave people who are choosing not to vaccinate behind. I waited in line for 4 1/2 hours total to get my vaccine - don't give me a bunch of garbage about "I couldn't get an appointment" stop being fucking lazy and go get one. Friends of mine drove all over the state to get them the same day. There is currently a vaccine surplus stop lying about your "cancelled appointments" My kid hasn't worn a mask in public ever. Why the fuck is your kid within 6 feet of random strangers for more than 15 minutes? That's the amount of exposure that is recommended against. My wife is currently in Chicago, apparently it's the opposite of Florida, even with everyone vaccinated they are brainwashed into still wearing masks and a bunch of stupid non-fact based compliance.

The more mutations that there are, the greater the chances that there will be one that spreads even more easily than all known variants, is more deadly, and isn't at all inhibited but current vaccines. I, for one, would very much like to avoid that scenario. SARS-CoV-2 is not going to “die”. Doesn’t matter if every human on the planet got vaccinated.

Ultimately, it's a "scoreboard, bitches!" situation. The virtue assigned by people on different fronts within the discussion regarding people's private decisions is interesting to me. It's like saying people that spout nonsense and misinformation are totally harmless and we should ignore them. *affect

Prior to the vaccine, we had a large swath of the population who was vulnerable. And there was nothing we could do for them other than try to help keep them safe by being responsible citizens. Now, the only vulnerable people are those who choose to be. In short, fuck them. Yes but then we don’t get to be angry Karen’s.

May 16, 20214 yr Post-vaccine I get to see people I haven’t seen in awhile. Haven’t changed my life much except now I don’t even bother with a mask most places.This. No change here. Good to see some folks who, for many reasons, were holed up for over a year and who are now coming alive.

Is it because of lack of demand/ population density? Why so different for us? We have people who were coming from all over the country because is is so turn key... and yeah, what are the odds anything is streamlined for us folks out in podunk? The whole deal is just strange and unpredictable.

They just didn’t realize their supporters wouldn’t take the vaccines they set aside for them at the rates needed to really pwn the libs.

We had appointments for my 12 year old and my 15 year old to get their first shots yesterday at Walgreens at 12:45 p.m. For whatever reason, we had it in our minds that the appointments were later and when I bothered to check, it already was 12:45 (and one of our kids was spending the night with a friend). So I grab the 15 year old and hightail it to Walgreens (the wrong Walgreens). Made no difference. 15 year old had the shot inside of 15 minutes. I collected the 12 year old and got to the correct Walgreens at 2:30 p.m. No wait. No fuss. Two kids with first shots in arms and the same injection site soreness the next day that I had. Heading to D.C. with the family in early June. Kids will get their second shots the day after we get back.

I'm here to tell you that it literally is foolproof. That said, I live in a county where the above 16 population is only 34% vaccinated at this point. So I wasn't expecting long lines. May 17, 20214 yr Popular Post My girlfriend has a Master’s in Public Health. Throughout the pandemic we were likely pretty far to the right side of the bell curve in terms of precautions - both worked from home, extreme curtailing of social activity, etc. No restaurants, gyms, whatever. Took a couple driving trips to the coast and mountains where lack of people was a constant. Part of that was both of us have 60+ parents with health issues and part of it is when you are with a MPH you tend to adhere to public health guidance as a household, even if for me personally, not dining outside was a little draconian. All restrictions are off for us since being fully vaccinated in April. Been to a wedding, just got back from New Orleans, dining out again, etc. the vaccine was always the endgame. I don’t know what else you’d be waiting for absent regularly seeing someone in your life who is significantly immunocompromised and/or cannot be vaccinated.I’ll still throw a mask on if a place requires it because I’m not a Karen, but it would seem that is about to become a lot less ubiquitous.
