I have a hard time rating guys that played in totally different eras. But I guess I'll try.

Kareem

After that you could put the next 4 in any order I honestly believe. I might go:

Wilt

Shaq

Hakeem

Russell

But that's all razor-thin and I don't really know how to compare guys like Russell with guys like Hakeem.

The pedant in me says, since these two players weren't eligible to play as college freshmen, I'm ranking them last in some order.

With that, I'll go:

Carmelo, on the strength of his tournament play

KD

Davis

Chris Jackson

Really tougher than I thought at first glance -- I have a few really close together with 3-5.

Magic, Steph, Oscar, CP3, Stockton, Thomas, Nash, Kidd.

Kidd was a better player than Nash.  The MVPs for Nash would tempt you into ranking Nash ahead of him, but those were somewhat fool’s gold.  If I have to win a playoff game tomorrow, I would take prime Kidd over prime Nash.

Walton and Alcindor were not eligible to play varsity their freshman years.
