July 12, 20214 yr The English invented "sport"? and "culture"? and "music"? Whuh? Did I miss a meeting?
July 12, 20214 yr Just now, Hagbard Celine said: come on, man you've been a nats fan for a long time your a fucking academic for crisesakes *the*english*invented*the*fucking*game* they also invented the language of international commerce, sport, air traffic control, culture, media, music, and porn except for the czech porn I get that. To me it's like watching the TDF. "Will this be the year France wins it all?" I only respond positively to "Texas is back" or "The Cowboys are going to the Super Bowl this year .

July 13, 20214 yr To the people that got their panties in a wad about any Brexit comments being "political". Nah, that was a decision. And they are going to get called on it. Like in the NY Times.
July 13, 20214 yr Prince William apparently quite upset with the racist comments being made about some black footballers in England.

They get tons of press and are frequently picked as one of the favorites and then never come close. Before 2018 and England kind of having run, the last time that England had made it to a Semifinal was 1996. The last time the Cowboys even got to a Conference Championship was 1996. I would argue before last weekend that Argentina was more like the Cowboys than England. They both have several decades of dominance, won multiple times and lost in the final almost as many. Both had nose candy issues in the early 90's with a long run of failure since then. The Jets makes more sense. 1 title before most of us were born, can barely name more than 1 player from that former run.

They lost in the finals of international tournaments three years in a row while having arguably the best offensive weapon in football/fútbol: Thurman Thomas meet Leo Messi (plus, throw in the 2007 Copa America final and they had 4 straight finals losses without a win.)
July 14, 20214 yr I don't think it's that wild. I'm not a huge football fan but I watched most Final 8 matches. I honestly had no idea the NBA finals were still taking place. Once I read that Durant was knocked out, I stopped watching but that was weeks ago. I just assumed the whole thing had wrapped up by now. But shit, they have like 4 more games to go? That takes like 2 weeks in the NBA. What the fuck? They're gonna wrap up just in time for back-to-school shopping or what?
