too bad Robert Durst didn't know that.

Funny enough. His house just sold. Less than a day on the market.

wonder what’s going to be done with it

Side note. Lets just say some interesting things were found in a crawl space across the street when pipes were getting fixed post freeze - surprised it hasn’t made the news yet

I forgot OU was going to New Orleans. That would explain why the storm is being sucked in that direction. I hope forecasters are taking that into account when they plot those paths.

I think you mean "expound".

Harry Styles concert talk not going away on the weather channel.  People are already camped out waiting to get in the Toyota center.

We just logged .1 inches in San Antonio. Winds gusting up to 10 mph. Neighbor has some sticks in his yard that definitely weren’t there before.

I’ll continue to check in here so that y’all know I’m okay.

...and I thought Austin was taking a beating.  Thoughts and prayers.

In Austin, I'm taking this storm seriously. I turned on my sprinkler system, to my backyard. Keeping the front yard on.

I already had a .25" shower in Bee Cave late this morning.

Never forget.

Looks like those of us in G might catch the very edge of that nasty NE corner.

The 4:00pm report:  Doppler velocity data from the Houston WSR-88D radar has shown a large swath of hurricane-force wind speeds in the northeastern quadrant of Nicholas' circulation above 12,000 ft during the past couple of hours, with brief appearances of average velocities of 80-100 kt at high altitudes. Thus, there is an abundance of large-scale cyclonic vorticity available for another burst of intense convection to tap into, which could allow Nicholas to approach hurricane strength by landfall. This would most likely occur tonight during the convective maximum period near landfall where increased frictional convergence along the coast could aid in the development of convection on the west side of the circulation.

On Ventusky right now it shows 80mph in that little section.   If it keeps edging East, that might catch the West End.  Probably Surfside for sure.

Serves me right for not checking the news. I’ve been cleaning out the garage to pull in the cars, and putting cold food and water in ice chests the last few hours.

TS Nicholas is a bitch ass storm.

I wanted 60", and got .06" instead .  This is bullshit!

Not gonna lie, when I saw 60” on that map my butthole puckered from hundreds of miles away

Is the rain supposed to come later? Inside the Loop and it hasn’t rained since about 4pm.  Street in front of my house is dry.

My flooring contractor just texted me saying he's postponing the final day of my renovation til Wednesday, no worries.

Watching the obligatory coverage on the 6pm news and noticed a badass coming out of HEB.

Baw gawd! Is that Steven Seagal's latino cousin, Esteban?

A little gusty here in southwest Houston. Not much in the way of rain yet.

No rain here in Sugar Land, but getting really breezy.

It's got a noticeable eastward jog on the most recent radar loop. If that keeps up, it will put most of greater Houston in the clean side of the storm.

Now you know how your wife feels

Well that was fun. The 50' x 40' rv cover next to me just shit the bed. Luckily it went south and not towards me. Got damn brand new window in my bedroom leaking like a sieve. Calmed down for a bit and is kicking back up now. I have booze, though.

Galveston here

Been chilling at the house all afternoon waiting for something cool to happen. Power flickered a few times but it's just windy and rainy. No biggie.

Tomorrow morning may be epic surf at the *secret spot* sometimes called surfers isle. Basically a south swell like this wraps around the jetty on the East end of the island and there's a point break that only happens in certain conditions. Only got it twice in my life. Tomorrow's wind forecast will be sideshore for most of the island but perfectly offshore for surfers isle. The bouy is at 17' right now lol

Gonna be a fun one

I wonder how well they check the rides on the pier after a hurricane.  Especially the big-ass drop-swing thing.

We've had emo rain all night here in Clear Lake.  The wind is beginning to pick up though.

I’m enjoying the latest edition of Frank and Justin butting heads.

shits looking pretty horizontal on the link there that wash posted

Definitely moving into Houston now. Getting pretty windy. Rain falling but the rate is more than manageable. Interesting to stick your head outside and watch the transformers popping light up the sky.

Power went out at 2:11 am in Briargrove Park.  Not a lot of rain but plenty of wind.

Lots of untrimmed trees in this neighborhood.   Always a problem

Been without power in the heights since 3am. Other than that, looks like thisll be over for houston before noon today

I think the potential for severe weather is already over for Houston.  Just some wind in Montrose, now calm, power still on so far.

Rained pretty steady near JV from midnight on. Fairly windy as well. Had a large branch that was resting on the roof trimmed last weekend. That was a good move.

I had a couple of trees cut down and some major limb trimming done last month.  Damn glad I got that taken care of.

Not that we've had any bad wind up here, but it's a bit more than the usual thunderstorm and those two trees that got chopped down may not have made it.
