Both cars full of gas and stocked up with supplies down in Galveston.

hopefully it’s just a “mild” rain event, because not much time left for a mass evacuation things start to heat up.

Did you buy toilet paper?

I forgot OU was going to New Orleans. That would explain why the storm is being sucked in that direction. I hope forecasters are taking that into account when they plot those paths.

Based on how UT football is playing, how covid is working out for us, I'd say Mother Nature will give us a Cat 4 that makes it to Austin.

Because...you know...things.

Move that bullseye about 10-15 miles west and it’s Houston Prepare Your Anus.

Not Allison or Harvey bad, but there would be issues.

The Euro and the GFS are so wildly different on this storm.  I think because it really doesn’t exist yet.

Lots of rain, wind, high tides... on the coast, get what you value off the ground floor and put out the no wake signs.

Going to be something,  hopefully not too bad, but they do not think it will stall, hopefully it won't have a name beyond TC14.

This (bold).  You can't make a track until you get a center.  Now it's got a center (TS Nicholas).
Within about 8-10 hours I can tell you with some certainty the rain forecast for Texas.  Back when that happens.

Latest Euro run might raise some eyebrows.
never seen sixty one fucking inches of rainfall projected from storm before…..  would beat the Harvey record, I believe.

edit: No one freak out  it’s still early. I would just start preparing

I was just about to post that Euro run.

Jeez

Does that say 61.2 inches?

Yeah. Shows it pulling a Harvey and floating around SA Austin for 3 days.

If that much rain falls ANYWHERE, it will be horrific. If it falls over Austin and SA….Jesus. It will be unimaginable.

I hope everyone on here got their fill of Shiner

It doesn’t matter where it falls. 61 inches of rain will flood it. That’s stupid

First part of this sloppy mess hitting Galveston.
about halfway through locking down the shutters.

only one in my neighborhood who has started.  Guess they are all just now rushing to the grocery store. Amateurs.

So has it shifted west? Looking to hit around Rockport?

Will the Texas/Rice game be cancelled?  Might be for the best.

Austin looking like itll get only 6-8 inches of rain over the next 4-5 days. By saturday in austin, itll likely look like nothing even happened

More like Flatonia and Schulenburg in the bullseye. but yeah, really all of Fayette County. Once you get over 20 inches of rain, is there really that much of a difference?

After last night's game, I take nothing for granted.

I agree that Harvey should be considered the exception and not the type of storm we should expect other storms to develop into, but Allison was a thousand year storm only to see a worse storm happen 16 years later.

2015 to 2017 i believe we had three 500 year events in houston, at least by the old standards. probably time to rethink them a bit

damn. will check in with family.

61 inches eh hmm.

Imelda dropped 20-40” of rain in/around Houston in 2019. I’m in Atascocita and we got about 25” in what seemed to be a 3 hour window. Top and bottom pictures were taken just a few hours apart. Luckily, the drainage started working again and we made out alright, but once the water got close to little bevo, we started moving some things to higher ground.  image.thumb.jpeg.cbe39dfa1e62700161577c64a2e5ebef.jpeg
