Holy fucking shit, what a nightmare. 58 Ks through 5 fucking games? Fuck

Yeah, that’s fucking brutal. To some degree RISP performance is luck but you can’t get lucky if you don’t even put the ball in play.

How he managed to get the yips after being fucking nails last year is beyond me.

    Happ's going deep today.

The most disturbing thing about the K's is who's doing it. Happ, Contreras, Rizzo, Baez, Bryant, Heyward, are all striking out =< 20% of their at bats.

Ian Happ has struck out in 10 of 16.  Holy. Fucking. Shit.

And I read somewhere 5-35 RISP.  Don't know if that's accurate, but if it isn't, it's close.  I care more about that than the K's.

Leadoff press, honestly Rizzo is hitting worse. Javy 1-1 with 3 walks tonight is good to see. Schwarber, Russell, Bryant, Zobrist, and Contreras all hitting well so far.

He went yard to start the season and then kept trying to hit bombs. He’ll be fine, he just needs to settle in. Hell, Jose Ramirez is like 1-24 right now.

He also had a great Spring. He will be fine.

quality troll by the person in charge of Cubs twitter-

Whoever runs the Cubs twitter is one of the best off all sports teams.

Good series vs the Brewers without Rizzo too. Darvish and Quintana looked great.

Starts the season with a 9 game road trip, cant wait for today's game.

Cubs pushed the game one hour to 2:20 to allow more time to prep the field

Looking at the weather, they should push the game back a little further, say, tomorrow. I was looking forward to a game at Wrigley today.

If it wasn't opening day it would have already been postponed. I get it's opening day but playing in that shit is a joke, unless they plan on replacing a ball every time it's put into play.

Postponed till tomorrow.

And a free extra dayoff for Rizzo who was going to miss today's game.

10 days off for Rizzo, lower back.

Maddon is going to get off the hook for this because it worked out but...

Down 8-2 in the 8th inning, bases loaded, 2 outs, and they bring their LEFTY closer into the game.  Sticking with fucking Jason Heyward over Albert Almora, who is on the bench and who happens to slaughter lefty pitching, is indefensible.  Yes, Heyward hit a 18 hopper weakass grounder through the middle somehow.  But it was still a fucking stupid move.  Really worked up about this one.

Javy is heating up. I didn’t realize it was possible to be hitting .212 with an ops of 1.002.

Hopefully they don't do like last year and get shut out next game.

Something called Trevor Williams is starting, so probably getting shutout.

Something like that.

Baez is one of the most exciting players in baseball, imo. When he's on he's something to see.

He’s like Soriano with the bat, but with amazing defense and base running.

I was close enough in my prediction.

For over a year now I’ve been spouting off about him being the most exciting player in baseball on the MLB thread; to the point of obnoxiousness. But he really is my favorite player in the game. There’s nobody like him.

I'd say rivaling the Twitter account of Wendy's, the troll is strong in that staff...

Hopefully today wakes this team up. Great comeback.

Had plans to watch, but when I got done what needed to get done, the score was 10-2. Figured I'd watch something else. Javy

Holy shit, we won?! Well I’ll be damned.

And he's been playing ball in the Tundra, had to go to the Rockies to find warmer temps.

Crazy finish for the W! Glad Bryant appears to be Ok. El mago continues to be en fuego!

Also, freakin almora on defense... wow!

Great game today. This was supposed to be how game 7 finished. Schwarber is comfortable this year.

Darvish played well today.

DVR'd the game. We need more of that from him. Hope he keeps it up.

Quintana dominated today. Seven scoreless in a 3-0 win.

Maybe we just need to play the Brewers forever

Repeat of yesterday. Good 4 game sweep.

April 26-29 with our 2/3/4/5 starters:
