December 12, 20214 yr Passing and serving. Can't win when Petersen and Iosia are this bad defensively. This is why they're on the court and they're liabilities.
December 12, 20214 yr The refs let that play be legal all match until one of the most crucial moments. awesome.
December 12, 20214 yr It's so fucking frustrating. FIX YOUR FUCKING DEFENSE JERRITT. FUCK! Edited December 12, 20214 yr by TwiceHorn
December 12, 20214 yr I'd like to say great season. But our season doesn't start until December. So it wasn't.

They all look like studs. Actually, there are some pretty chonky DS that are probably better than ours. And setters. Edited December 12, 20214 yr by TwiceHorn
December 12, 20214 yr Passing and serving. Passing was terrible all night and we only served tough in 1 set.

December 12, 20214 yr Just now, TwiceHorn said: Asjia was really the only good server tonight. Yeah, I don't know what happens but in these big matches we just fall apart at the service line. We did the same thing against Kentucky last year where we would just lob the ball over the net and still had service errors. You can't beat these quality of teams if you're that bad from the service line. I think it's a mental thing more than anything because this was a great serving team all season.
December 12, 20214 yr Parra had a pretty disappointing tournament, too, both defensively and serving.
December 12, 20214 yr I think we subbed every setter on our roster today, just couldn't find consistency with anyone
December 12, 20214 yr Is it kind of odd that we only have three DS, one of whom rarely plays, on the roster?

The defense was bad on all levels in the tournament except for Petersen last night. When your "defensive specialists" in Parra, Petersen, and Iosia are that bad this is the result. I'm starting to think a big part of the issue is playing in the Big 12. They need to be challenged more and they simply don't get that in the Big 12.
December 12, 20214 yr We beat ourselves. I feel much differently about the result last year compared to this year. I thought we were better but was clearly wrong.
