Haven't tried it yet, but it's on my list. New to Houston, still in transition but am looking in the area. Might be a future neighbor to you putos. Dinette is great. Hanoi eggrolls with the lettuce herbs and pickled veg are dynamite. Wagyu skewers with betel leaf served on rice noodles with fish sauce out of this world. Tamarind sticky wings are awesome. Pretty good fried rice. Haven't tried Xin Chao yet, but will sometime soon.

The rest of the menu looks great but I just keep ordering the eggrolls. The wagyu skewers are incredibly good though---highly recommend.

February 21, 20232 yr Navy Blue was very good last night. I had the tuna crudo, one of the best caesar salads I've had, and the snapper.

April 21, 20232 yr Try Musaafer if it hasn’t already been mentioned. I am sure it has but the Houston thread on food and travel doesn’t get a whole lot of action and my apologies if already covered. Food from all 29 states in India but the executive chef is incredible. You go through pretty intense training to be on the staff (3 weeks) to work there. Such elevated food. The presentation is insane. Some pictures. I would love to see their chef compete on Top Chef…

November 1, 20232 yr Wife's birthday is tomorrow but wants to do a birthday brunch with our 2 sons, 10 and 4...any recommendations on newer, nice-ish places around town that would fit the bill? We're in the GOOF area so not limited to going anywhere - mexican food is probably out since we're mexican and that's just food for us

November 1, 20232 yr We go to Millies quite a bit since it's in the neighborhood. I reread my initial post and forgot to mention it was for Saturday. I assumed everyone only does brunch on Saturday or Sunday. Otherwise it's just lunch
March 24, 20241 yr Author Went to Étoile tonight for the first time. The duck was incredible. Brasserie 19 is dog shit in comparison as far as French food goes, although maybe people just go there for the scenery. Edited March 24, 20241 yr by Etexhorn13

April 6Apr 6 Well, it didn't happen. Storms knocked out their credit card system, so they closed the restaurant. We salvaged meal before a show at Prima Pasta near West U. Nice little family Italian place. Never been before.
April 10Apr 10 Anybody been to Haywire in Memorial? Looks like a nice dining room and bar. Interesting menu.

Hadn’t heard of it until a couple of weeks ago when an acquaintance interviewed with them to be their GM. It’s owned by the same company as Sixty Vines and Mexican Sugar. My wife loves Sixty Vines and I think it’s decent, but we both thought Mexican Sugar was ass when we tried it. I’m sure we will end up checking Haywire out at some point after the guy we know starts there later this month.
