May 15, 20223 yr I still run out a heavily rotated team. We have the depth that should be able to get a result against SOTON.

Don't sell out for Southampton. You're going uphill thinking City draw or lose at a home match against a side that's been mediocre of late. I think getting to Paris with a healthy squad should be the more realistic goal. I'd love Tsimikas to get the start as a hat tip for his penalty shootout win.

I want to see more from him with his feet before making that determination. Defensively however he is at an elite level for the combo of athleticism, size, strength, technique to be truly incredible. Some of the work he does with body position and control of players is pretty incredible for a guy that young. I would love if he and Joe could become the pairing. I’m a bit worried about Joe though but maybe that’s just Konate and Matip being so good that’s kept him out of the side at CB recently

He's a great CB for handling both Big and Quick strikers. And he's learning from the best. At one point in the match on Saturday, he was pointing and yelling like VVD. I'll bet that made Virg smile.
May 16, 20223 yr Lineup tomorrow will be interesting. You probably have to rest every outfield player who went 120 minutes on Saturday, plus Salah and Virgil who have slight injury concerns, but it's still an absolute must-win. I'd be surprised if Firmino didn't start and I'd definitely play either Curtis or Harvey and Tsimikas and Jomez as our fullbacks. I'd like to see Ox get a chance against his former club and as a bit of a swan song but he always looks terribly rusty whenever he gets a spot start. City are still heavy favorites to win the PL but three points tomorrow means we go into the final day of the season with a puncher's chance and it's hard to be mad at that.

I'm not advocating for us playing anyone who went 120 minutes on Saturday, but I think you put out as good a squad as you can and go hell for leather.
May 16, 20223 yr Alisson Tsimikas/Matip/Konate/Gomez Ox/Jones/Elliott Firmino/Jota/Minamino(Origi) Mane/Diaz ready to come on at ~60/70 (maybe not Mane) Can't see playnig Mo/Fabinho/VVD Hard to see get much more than 15-20 Thiago/Robertson/Henderson
May 16, 20223 yr Author I think Ox’s race has run at LFC. Would be shocked if he got minutes tomorrow.
May 16, 20223 yr Was watching the end at kid soccer and grabbed a couple screenshots, and somehow got an incredible one of Tsimikas in front a smoke filled stadium. It's on my phone and if anyone more tech savvy than me can post, DM me your cell # and I'll shoot it over. If you just want it do the same. #notascamIpromise

May 16, 20223 yr didn't know I could do that. Did I lie? An awesome (and very lucky/random) shot. It was so bright out there, didn't get to see it until later.

May 16, 20223 yr Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are set to miss Liverpool's trip to Southampton but Jürgen Klopp is sure they will be available for the Champions League final. Both players were substituted during Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup final victory over Chelsea due to injury and the boss expects to be without them at St Mary’s Stadium on Tuesday night. However, Klopp hopes Salah and Van Dijk can feature against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the final day of the Premier League season and insists there is ‘no doubt’ they will be ready to face Real Madrid in Paris on May 28. When asked if the duo will be involved versus Southampton during the second part of Monday’s pre-match press conference, Klopp replied: “No. Virg definitely not but that was pretty much clear before the [Chelsea] game already that I thought, ‘OK, this is the game now.’ He played really a lot and then Saturday-Tuesday again. It was clear. “They are both OK. So, the target would be for both that they can be involved again on the weekend. Properly involved, bench or whatever and a few minutes or start, I don’t know, we will see that, because that would then be perfect for the game [Champions League final]. “But if not then we take each day afterwards. But we are very positive, or [have] no doubt about the final. I’m pretty realistic about the Wolves game, but tomorrow rather not.”

May 17, 20223 yr It's interesting to me how people can follow football teams and not be familiar with a lot of the culture that surrounds them. Was having a discussion last week on another board and out of the blue another fan threw out "Always the victim" and I promptly told him to go *%$^ himself. He's a Spurs fan who's been to games in London and went to the final in Madrid but says he had no clue as did several others. Seems crazy to me, but it is what it is I guess. Supporting a lot of teams, Liverpool specifically involves more than latching on to the Cowboys or Mavericks. I don't think you have to be a Socialist or anything like that, but if stuff like that bothers you from a political/social point of view I think it would be difficult to support either team from Liverpool.
