April 24Apr 24 Weather warming up enough for us to open our windows for our turds to enjoy the fresh air and sun…
May 5May 5 Popular Post Finally found a photo of Jeep, the only cat we have ever had - “inherited” him from our son who had given him to his future wife. She couldn’t keep him and returned him to our son who was living in an apartment with 3 of his college buddies. Naturally, Jeep wound up with us when son & girlfriend married in 1991. I had never been a cat person, but of course Jeep, a Maine Coon breed, “adopted” me as his best friend and crawled all over me at odd hours of the day & night. He lived to age 17, almost 15 of those years with us. He was the biggest cat I ever saw - “only” 18 lbs, but could easily stand on his hind legs and reach up to grab something off the dining table if we weren’t watching. Jeep was a good cat, and I miss him.

May 5May 5 Popular Post Flounder. Born NYE 2024. We got her at 9 weeks and now 4 months old. Training her to be my boat house cat to keep the birds from nesting and making a mess. Slowly getting her used to the outdoors but she is going to be a natural of course. Already wants to go out all the time.

May 6May 6 Popular Post This little fella was left behind with another cat by a neighbor at few years ago. He finally decided I'm ok. Very sweet, very small. He wants in the house, now. I don't think he knows Blue would kill him the first chance she got. So, he's getting fed and hanging out in my front yard. Greets me at the door every morning.
May 7May 7 I can't help but notice this thread is on page four while the "another" my dog is awesome thread is on page 200. As an owner of both, I totally get it.

May 7May 7 Popular Post Inherited this guy last November after my father passed due to cancer. Mom did want the cats anymore so we took em in. Everyone could use a pillow right?

May 7May 7 I grew up despising cats, mostly because I’m terribly allergic to them, but also because I found the aloofness off putting. Then, in college I got adopted by a kitten. I developed a soft spot for kittens but still rejected adult cats. Finally, starting in 2018 when I installed video surveillance cameras on my property, I finally got to see what stone cold assassins the strays were around my house, protecting my property from rats, snakes, and anything else that tried to mess with us. Now I love these creatures. They are awesome.

May 7May 7 I’m generally annoyed by people that let their pets roam the neighborhood unabated, but I have a soft spot for a little black cat that belongs to some neighbors behind us. He’s a little too good at hunting apparently because his owners put a collar with a bell on him awhile back. Watching him on our security cameras at night cracks me up. He has the same routine of patrolling our house every night. If something is out of place it really bugs him. Nothing pisses him off more than if someone is staying overnight and their car is parked in our driveway.
May 8May 8 Two Octobers ago my gf was moving and one day a little kitten walked up on the back porch. No clue where she came from because this was a corner house at a busy intersection and only a business next door and across the street. A day or two goes by and the kitten finds her way into the garage so my gf gives her some food. This is less than a week from her moving and she's not allowed anymore pets in her new apartment. Well, i couldn't just let the little thing stay behind and starve or get ran over so i take the little shit in. Her name is Mr. Kitty (if you watch south park you get it) and she's been awesome. Doesn't like anybody but me and the gf and is "scared" of everything but that's getting better over time. When i brought her home she was between 4-6 weeks old and in August she'll be 2. When i get on my phone i'll post some pics of her. Never thought I'd like having a cat but she's pretty damn cool. Likes to go outside and chase the squirrels and birds even though she gets nowhere close to catching them lol She has a bf next door but if he gets too close to the door she hisses and runs him off. She's perfectly fine with him away from the door.
May 8May 8 Popular Post Here she is when she first showed up here she is “hunting” and her and her bf after she just ran him off
May 8May 8 Louie is the dark one on left (he’s a Birman with blue eyes) Elouise “weezy” is the white one on the right (she’s a ragdoll with blue eyes) They are both social without being annoying and are very very sweet. Louie wakes me between 5/530am every morning and makes biscuits on me and purrs. Great cats Edited May 8May 8 by Bogeywon

Not a breed, a genetic coat pattern that occurs only in females, like calicos. It can theoretically occur in any breed of cat. Black with orange/red speckles and "highlights" and the occasional white spot. Her actual breed seems to be domestic longhair, or mediumhair.

May 10May 10 I got a cat , he’s under the weather right now a cough or vomits not sure which . Vet said he was constipated and has pneumonia…she kept him overnight gave him some fluids and an enema ( good for her). So he comes home still coughing a bit - gets to eat wet food now- he loves it ( makes me gag every time I open that can). Long story longer he’s eating but still under the weather, but the little bad ass killed a copper head last night and left it at the door for me . He must have heard us talking about the fucking bill…. His name is Pedro , I thought it was Kitty The Kitty he is 12 . I didn’t think much of him at first . An exterminator told us to quit calling him and get a cat for the field mice that were shitting in my silverware drawers and eating my Fritos . A week later no mas mice. He still doesn’t think much of me , except when I open that can of cat food … I hope he starts feeling well soon .
May 10May 10 Man oh man this thread hits close to home. My dad hated cats and we always had dogs growing up. Of course I also hated cats. My wife finally convinced me to let her get a rescue cat that was missing most of one hind leg. We never knew if it was an accident or a birth defect but I fell in love with that cat that we named her Hopper. Indoor cat. She was not hindered at all with basically one hind leg. She could jump as high as any regular cat and actually caught a bird when we were moving and doors were open. Had several different rescue cats since then and now have three (max limit even though I love’em). A tuxedo and a tortoise shell and the new addition….an orange tabby we got as a tiny kitten whose is now a year and a half. Named him Opie. Edited May 10May 10 by Steamboat1874
May 10May 10 Kind of a fun Ted 'toon on why cats are the way they are. There's also a book called "The Lion In The Living Room" that elaborates the fairly universal behaviors of cats big and small.

May 11May 11 It's a weird thing they do. They're good hunters and that's fairly obviously not conducive to stealth. They only seem to do it when they're indoors and birds outdoors, or birds are clearly beyond reach, like in a tree if the cat is outdoors.

May 11May 11 This freeloader comes and goes as he pleases. Lives 2 doors down but spends most of his time in between 2 other houses. He loves to snuggle and he loves the ladies. Spoilt. It’s nice to have him around.
