Can you amend thread title to read "in 2022" because that was confusing - I thought "Damn that is late notice, there must be something coming out soon!"

Makes perfect sense otherwise.  The transition plan is on staff.  Scheyer was my top choice if CDC wanted to go "up and comer" versus an established head coach.

Tobacco road will soon look different w/out both K and Roy roaming the sidelines.

Congrats to Duke/K on title #6.

Yep.  Probably best to be on the opposite side of the bracket next year.

Dude's been butt hurt about player empowerment every day since Corey Maggette left early.

Got a kick out of the notion that he doesn't want a farewell tour. Maybe having the word out there that he doesn't one want in and of itself does enough for his ego, but this motherfucker is gonna lap up every ounce of praise coming his way this year.

Feels like we missed out to completely make fun of the pick with Greg Paulus not getting the nod.  Dude was completely overrated the whole time at Duke as a player, would have been fun to continue that trend as a coach.

Itll be head coach scheyer, paulus, kyle singler and the other 2 plumlees that didn’t make it in the nba that’ll be the next staff

Sorry Chris duhon

Sorry Chris duhon

I’ve never rooted against a team Bc of an entire coaching staff but I’m willing to try

Sorry Chris duhon

JJ Redick has got to be close to retiring.

Don't know how to post IG posts on here but Bilas posted will be toughest act to follow in history of sports...  good lord.

Dookie V will be unbearable next season.

Man's a helluva coach, deserves to be on Mt. Rushmore of CBK Coaches.

Oh Duke fans, I don't think we have many here, but their existence just got miserable.

it takes guts to be the heir apparent to Coach K. that's a job i would never, ever, ever want. somewhat relatedly, this type of thing is why i believe that Augie is the best to ever do it. to build a national powerhouse program from nothing, and then to have the guts and self belief to move halfway across the country to succeed the winningest coach of all time at one of the few college baseball programs with a rabid fan base- and then to win multiple national titles at that school while breaking the all time wins record- stuff like that just doesn't happen. best of luck to Scheyer- he's a lot more likely to be Duke's Matt Doherty than he is to win titles there.

Great now they will just hire Beard - Satya probably

Please make that happen -bitterwhiteguy probably

Although the media hype of Paulus was annoying, Coach K himself didn't seem to buy it, as he benched Paulus his senior year.

Listening to a Coach K interview on Dan Patrick show, and the DP asked him about recruiting Shaq, and Coach K said they didn’t know about Shaq because he played in Germany, with his parents being in the military.  Shaq played in the Texas State Basketball Tournament for San Antonio Cole, did he not? Iirc, Shaq was only a Sophomore.  Our own high school team made the tourney that year and our coach also taught our speech class.  When they got back, he said he had seen the best high school player he had ever seen in his life… and it was Shaq.

Coach K’s splaining just seemed a little off…

Fun last season.  One player - his grandson - gets DWI.  Another player - a future lottery pick - charged with aiding and abetting DWI.

Wtf is "aiding and abetting" dwi? Ive never heard of that.

Contributing to a minor? But I guess since both are underage maybe that’s why it’s aiding and abetting?

Before you go out and celebrate this weekend, did you know you can still be charged with DWI even if you are a passenger? In North Carolina, you can. According to UNC School of Government, the charge is called the aid and abet DWI.

Essentially, the law claims that you are an accomplice because you were aware that the driver was impaired and still allowed and encouraged them to drive. You already know driving under the influence can land you behind bars, but in North Carolina, you can also be charged if you are a passenger. When you provide the instrument, that is the car for them to go and commit the offence of driving while impaired, you could be charged.

It is more common than you might think. It may be a controversial law that has been brought before the state court several times. However, the charge almost always ends up getting dismissed. Generally, your defense to this crime can be you did not know that that person had had too much to drink to drive a car because you had been drinking yourself. So, you were also impaired. Law enforcement often use this law to teach people a lesson. A lot of times it gets dismissed, but they do that just to remind you that you might not be doing the right thing by handing over your car keys to someone else.

It is a charge most people have never heard of until they are faced with it. Aiding and abetting DWI is a misdemeanor charge and is not as serious as an actual DWI. But it still could end up costing you a lot of time and money. It is something you cannot pay off. You do have to come to court.

Sounds kinda worthless. I get the sentiment but just seems like a waste of everyone's time...like it says it'd be almost impossible for that charge to stick. You'd need like video evidence of the person forcing the other person to drive.
