SEC foresaw this, with no Texas home games in October

I posted about this in the other thread but I went through the Clear line at AUS last Saturday and it took about 25 minutes. My friends who went through regular pre check were waiting for me for 15 minutes.

Flew out last Friday around 3pm. 5m to clear standard security. There was a big ass wreck and backup on 71 though so that might have choked off the traffic.

It just means more

Had a 6am flight this morning. Regular TSA line was about 45 min long. Pre-check looked about 30 min. Clear was 10 min.

Shocked clear was shorter as usually they are a shitshow at ABIA

Any of y'all that live northwest or RR, Cedar Park, etc. and have to fly through DFW anyway, should seriously look at flying from GRK.  We've started doing it as our standard and could not be happier.  No Austin traffic or AUS security shit show.

Parking is much cheaper and way closer in to the terminal.  Flights have always been on time in and out of there.

Embraer Regional Jet service through American Eagle, EJR 175s, mostly, I think.

YMMV.

Dude, STFU or you're gonna ruin it for those of us that have been doing it for years.

Ahem....Don't listen to DalTxHornFan...this is a terrible idea.

Update: AUS security lines seemed fine/normal.  Security at LAS was a LITTLE slow, TSA pre was down to two scanners.  Not sure if that was a staffing thing or not.  It wasn't terrible, but it was a little slower than we recall.

Not flying again for a good while, so....good luck, fellas who are flying the next few weeks during this shutdown.

Caught some grief for wanting to drive to Plano next week, as opposed to flying.

Nope.  I'm good till they get shit ironed out.

The TSA/Clear area in this airport is the dumbest fucking design I’ve ever experienced.

Brought to you by the bike lane capital of the world.

Aus and dca running smoothly this week. Be nice to the tsa agents.

As discussed in the other thread that had to be last night, went through IAH earlier and it took 5-7 minutes max.

Which thread? Or is that Houston-specific?

...

so many ATCs are calling out of work in order to put food on the table the FAA says they need to cut the amount of air traffic at many major airports beginning Friday.

“U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is expected to order scheduled air traffic cut by 10% at 40 major airports starting Friday…”

https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/us-may-cut-air-traffic-10-by-friday-without-shutdown-deal-sources-say-2025-11-05/

10-15 mins total through TSA Pre this morning at ABIA. That’s inclusive of bag scanner time.

Off to NYC.
