3rd place finish nationally for the women. 11 points from finishing 2nd.

Three more events left. Texas leading by about 21 points. Slight chance that diving can seal the deal before the last relay is in.

The 🐐

Amazing!  Way to go Longhorns!

Champs again. 15 and 5 of the last 6 years. Eddie is by far the most successful coach ever at UT and top 5 in college sports ever.

There is no comparable coach in swimming on the collegiate level or even Olympic level to Eddie. 15 championships over 5 decades , not to mention all the other top 3 finishes is amazing. What is equally awesome is how the sport has evolved during his tenure and he has not only adapted but kicked ass.

Eddie’s not a legend. He’s what legends aspire to be.

And he’s a great guy. My wife worked for him (LONG ago), and he was never anything but good to people.

SO happy to see this! We are THE swimming and diving school!

Yep. Now we just need to get the ladies over the hump. I believe they finished 3rd this season

They did.  Best in a long time.

Also, Swim Swam has the breakdown.  Most of Texas' points came from non seniors, where as most of Cals points came from Seniors.  2022 will be interesting.

No surprise there

He’ll stay on as Head Coach Emeritus

Sad day that we knew would come. What a fucking legend.

No pressure on the next coach or anything.

The greatest athletics coach we had here on campus without a doubt.  Congrats on a remarkable career and on your retirement, Coach Reese.  Will miss just assuming we won a national championship in something mid-spring every year.

Wow.  What a career for a such a nice person.   Eddie remembered my name every time I saw him after my very brief walk on status at UT.

Two of the top names I've been hearing about are assistant coach Wyatt Collins or alum Brendan Hansen

Congrats Eddie!

Collins is the interim for now

Goddamit. A legend of legends. Can’t even begrudge him his well earned and deserved retirement.

He’s everything you ever want a Texas coach to be.

Tip of the hat, sir.  What an example he set and a tremendous representative of Longhorn Nation!
