  • What the fuck happened to Texans with the constant whining about it being hot??? I can understand that by September it gets to be a beating, but in June?? It’s Texas in the summer time. It’s hot. It’s

  • The average October 5 temperature in Austin, Texas is 82 for the high and 61 for the low. It’s supposed to be 89/59 tomorrow. So a little warmer but also a little cooler. It’s almost like some of you

High in Austin for the next week is supposed to be 98 degrees.  If that’s exceedingly hot then Texas isn’t the place for you.  I wonder how nature kept this big secret from supposedly longtime residents that it gets fucking hot here.  Some of you act all surprised about it.

Almost as surprised as not getting rain from a hurricane when you live 200+ miles away from the coast in the wrong fucking direction.

Maybe learn to read. I intentionally didn't describe it as hot.

100+ heat index is plenty fucking warm.

I was outside at barking armadillo all afternoon. It was breezy, and in the shade it was really nice. I didn't even break a sweat. Getting out of the car in the parking lot was a beating though

Well, it’s a beautiful night. I’m sitting on the porch and am quite comfortable. About 10 degrees cooler would be perfect, but it feels about 10 degrees cooler than it did just two weeks ago at this time.

Stop whining and don't jinx us. I cannot deal with 98 degrees on Halloween.

88 degrees with 100% humidity is also great on Christmas.  Really gets a guy in the holiday spirit.

Humid af yesterday. Took down the rest of a dead tree in the front yard (thanks winter storm, you’re the cunt that keeps on counting), and just sweated my balls off.

Enough of this shit please, I’d like to drink a PSL on the porch while wearing one of my fall shawls and discussing reality TV WITHOUT perspiring.

Triple digits tomorrow? Sincerely fuck off

Sweating my ass off in the humidity right now. Praying for this front to materialize in a few days.

Last night at the game was decent, at least compared to the scorcher of a home opener. Hope we get fall-ish weather for an 11am kickoff Saturday against Tech.

Was not a fun run this morning…

Just gotta make it to Tuesday.  Look at those AM temps.Screenshot_20210919-141348_AccuWeather.thumb.jpg.e139dffea2c7565e67cf8fee9551002c.jpg

it's looking like kickoff will be much more pleasant.. low of 55 overnight, a high of 91 (likely dry)

Still 11am - gonna need to slather on the sunscreen - the UV rays will still be pretty intense.

My AC broke yesterday. Because of course.

Mine is getting fixed tomorrow. If I drink enough, I’ll sleep fine one more night.

FYI those are overnight lows so that's Wednesday morning, not Tuesday morning. Walk outside on Tuesday morning expecting low 60's and you gonna get rekt.

Is it ever fucking gonna stop being fucking hot all the fucking time??? Asking for a friend.

81 degrees in my living room right now with my busted AC. Not out of control, but certainly not fun.

We've had more 100 degree days in September than in June, July, and August combined.

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, blastfurnace.

Took my boys and his friends to Ski Shores on Barton Springs on Sunday for lunch... it felt so stuffy on that patio.  Blech.

For Austin, the front pushing through should bring some scattered showers Tuesday evening. Once the rain moves through, temps should begin to drop, from ~80 at 9 pm to ~65 at 7 am.

For Houston, same but a few hours later and a few degrees warmer.

The real nice stuff doesn't come through until later Wednesday. Thursday morning should be glorious.

username kinda checks out.

Fuck off Blastfurnace!

OK folks, we survived another summer. And it was a damn nice one.

So when do I pull out my REI parka?

This summer was not that bad in Houston (caveat I was gone a good part of it).  But it seemed milder than most because of all the rain we had.

where do you go to find historical hi/lo temps?  i use timeanddate.com but they don't show bergstrom hitting 100 at all this summer so i'm a little skeptical of the accuracy.

Same for us in Central Texas. Overall an incredibly bearable summer.

This Summer was definitely not bad compared to most, but still...fuck Summer.

That is true. ABIA never hit 100 this year. I guess it could today, though, but I doubt it.

Damn, with 30% humidity it “feels like” 106….

Can't this shit come through on a weekend. Fucking Thursday morning. "Damn, it's nice out. Well, off to work."

Yep, was thinking a hike. Fuck that, off to the river with a couple of cold beers. Just gonna sit and enjoy what I hope is the dying rattle of Blastfurnace 2021.

Well, it should still be quite nice this weekend. Maybe 3-4 degrees warmer and a couple ticks higher humidity than Thursday but still very pleasant.

Mornings and evenings should remain enjoyable for the next few weeks even if it warms back up to the mid 90's during the daytime. Blastfurnace is running on fumes and not likely to find a station at this point in the year.

Sucker!  Without looking at the forecast, I set up a tee time to take a client out for golf Thursday @ 8:30 AM.  May even need to wear a pullover!

Thanks, but it's a cardigan.

I'm heading off to Aspen for a short trip later this month. Typically by the 3rd weekend of September the daytime high is 70 or less and the overnight low is around 40. They might have to drag me kicking and screaming onto the plane to head back to Houston.

Leaving for this trip Thursday, ironically on what will be the nicest day in Houston in months. Oh well, I think I'll survive:

I'm guessing we'll have a few ISU fans in Waco this weekend. I'll have to thank one for bringing the weather with them.

Poor cyclone bastards.  They come from a land of cold beer, cute women, and mild Septembers.

Yeah I don't know about ISU having better looking women than BU. Sure they put out easier, but with a little effort you too can break a commandment.

Feels gross this morning in SWAustin.  This "cold" front can't get here soon enough.

Yeah, 79 and disgusting humidity at 5:45 this morning wasn't ideal.

It's somehow fitting that the final day before Autumn begins sneaks in one last reminder of everything there is to hate about summer in Texas.

Fortunately, the cavalry is on the way:

Would've been nice to get a little bit of rain out of this, but I'll be kind and not complain about it.
