It’s a damn miracle we ranked 11th in the country in yards per rush and top 10 in line yards if Bijan was getting hit in the backfield every play

Well sure, but who’s to say if those 7 points would have even mattered in that game.

Notice him flinging the ball off his back foot and not stepping into the throw- because.

I’m all for criticizing what needs to be criticized and giving credit for things/people that deserve credit.

But it’s become increasingly obvious that some people just write down every problem Texas football has had the last 12 years and just draw one out of a bucket when they are trying to make a point, regardless if it applied for that years team.

Exactly! Not like we lost by exactly 7, because then that would really hurt.

He made plenty of shitheaded throws with a clean pocket also. It was multifactorial, stop being obtuse.

Cease and fucking desist with this fucking horseshit. Thank you in advance for your fucking attention to this fucking matter.

CSB, I worked with Bob Hayes’ (FAMU also) ex-wife, and that woman could tell some very entertaining stories.

So are we fumbling at the 1 yard line?

Land was on the 1 yard line, then Keaontay Ingram fumbled and it was returned 99 yards for a touchdown allowing Land to stay at FAMU

This is a terrible take and you should feel terrible for posting it. Stuff like throwing open post routes two seconds too late and getting drilled forcing an interception is on the QB, not the OL. He was a poor QB.

He must not have been around during the Colt McCoy years. He turned a really shitty OL into a prolific offense, because he was an elite QB with only 2 elite WRs in 2008, and 1 elite WR in 2009. Just imagine what McCoy would do in this offense with the current RB, WR, and TE rooms.

Casey Appleblack made me laugh so hard my wife asked me if I took a gummy. The absurdity of defending that guy is so over the top that I actually appreciate the novelty of it.

You don’t go 5-7 at Texas without multiple issues but the QB position certainly was worth at least two games.

Dude. He had a receiver who didn't have a defender within 15 yards of him and threw a fadeway moonball with BOTH feet off the ground as the ball was being released.

Edited by Hookem2147

im not saying he didnt miss throws.  im saying that he was the least of our problems (which he was one) . you think we lost more games because he missed a couple of throws or because we had the 100th ranked defense in the country or because bijan couldnt get a head of steam and and half of his yards from the oline giving up penetration?

All the time in the world to step up and deliver the ball for a touchdown. Instead he airmails it off his back foot.

Not to belabor the point, but after the Tech game I charted all of Casey’s deep balls (20+ air yards past the LOS). Not knowing at the time that would be his best stretch of the season.

1/10, 23 yards, TD, 2 INT, 1 PI

(stats don’t include: 1 blatant missed PI; 1 play where Marcus Washington fell down with the ball in the air; and 1 ~25 yard fluke completion where he horribly overthrow his intended receiver, who was ~15 yards downfield)

Looking forward to a QB with a strong arm who can hit open receivers and does not throw into triple coverage.

(Hopefully we have at least one guy on the roster who can do that in the fall.)

Was sitting in a box for this game with donors that actual care. In between the boxes that are Brown, Lief Johnson, Capital Beverage, and more of the guys who aren’t huge money but contribute a ton. These guys drive things not Michael Dell.

The complete dejection from being up two scores to being up 4 at half was palpable. By the end of the game the Ewers talk was real and the old money was ready for a change. Sark has his issues but I hope he is given time, we are in 2000s Notre Dame territory.

If there are guys that move the needle these guys will pay, Mathis was a want but not a $600k guy.

Don’t be surprised if Addison ends up at Texas. We have a lot of big money that has fantasy football on the brain.

Bobby:

Texas continues to monitor Pitt transfer receiver Jordan Addison, the 2021 Biletnikoff winner who entered the NCAA transfer portal over the weekend.

Alabama has emerged as a primary threat to USC because of Addison’s burgeoning relationship with Bama QB Bryce Young. The two worked out together the past couple of days while Addison is in Southern California, where Young is initially from.

But USC remains the heavy favorite.

USC quarterback Caleb Williams has allegedly been recruiting Addison for “weeks if not months”, according to a person familiar with the situation, prior to Addison’s entrance to the portal.

Note: It is not illegal for players to recruit other players, either high school or college. However, never before have the stakes of NIL been at play simultaneously. When we say it’s a new frontier, this is part of that horizon.

Texas is considered a dark horse. But one willing to put its hat in the ring if given a real opportunity, which is still uncertain because Addison is focused primarily on Bama and USC.

At this stage, as one person told me, I’d give Texas no more than a “5 percent shot” with Addison. So we are monitoring the situation and will update you accordingly if, or as, things develop.

**

Texas receivers coach Brennan Marion of course coached Addison at Pitt a year ago.

No Texas player, coach, collective or third party lured Addison to the portal. However, Texas has been in contact since.

I mention that Texas did not tamper with Addison on purpose. Nor did Texas tamper with any other recruit prior to their entrance into the portal.

Some programs, via agents speaking not directly with players but family members in the case of both Xavier Worthy and Jahdae Barron, most assuredly did.

That’s right. It’s not illegal for the parents of players to talk to agents or emissaries of other schools at any time and that is what occurred with Worthy and Barron.

I believe he’s saying those were Casey’s stats through the Tech game. He logged the passes for the season up to that point after the game.
