He's going to play at left tackle.

When healthy and not dropping TD passes (i.e., TCU)

It would seem that prior to showing up on a NFL roster he would need to be on a college roster this season.

More receivers huh. Looks like sark is going after the sumlin approach. Maybe a OL and some defensive guys would be nice.

Oh for fuck's sake.  We're not getting an OL - Sark & Co. are happy with what we recruited.  We've been after several defensive players and are currently scheduled to host the grad-transfer LB who just went into the portal.

Sark is just worried about the numbers.  That's probably smart.

I didn’t really understand this bitchy comment so I went and looked. His first full class had 20 defensive players/O-lineman out of 33. 2014 was 17 of 22 were defensive players/O-lineman including Myles Garret who was a bamf. 2015 was 17 of 27 were defensive players/O-lineman including the #14 overall player in Mack. 2016 and 2017 exactly the same kind of classes. You contradicted yourself while also being a whiny bitch. Impressive. Carry on sir.

Spoiler

Cole Hutson, OG, Texas
247Sports Composite: No. 366

Texas’ starting o-line mix is still very much up in the air, and Hutson stands to benefit. Hutson impressed as an early enrollee to the point he started at right guard during Texas’ final spring scrimmage. Hutson will have every chance to earn a starting spot in fall camp and at worst will be in the rotation for a unit that has far more question marks than answers going into 2022.

Devon Campbell, OL, Texas
247Sports Composite: No. 9

If Hutson doesn’t end up starting at right guard, it might end up being Campbell, who arrives in Austin this summer. The No. 1-ranked o-lineman in the country, Campbell is 6-foot-3, 310 pounds with athleticism that would make a lot of skill players jealous. Campbell has college-ready strength and pairs that with speed (sub-5 seconds in the 40) that makes him a devastating second-level blocker. And it’s not like Campbell will compete with an established starter. He’s going to force his way into Texas’ starting lineup at some point this year.

 Kelvin Banks, OT, Texas
247Sports Composite: No. 33

Yep, another Longhorn true freshman offensive lineman. This is a tough position to play for a youngster, but in this case I feel very safe in saying all three of Hutson, Campbell and Banks will be in the two deep. As for Banks’ future, he will have every chance to push Christian Jones at right tackle when he arrives this summer. Like Campbell, Banks is more college-ready than many other incoming offensive linemen. He’s going to be given every chance to play.

Jaylon Guilbeau, CB, Texas
247Sports Composite: No. 159

Guilbeau’s inclusion here comes with a sizable caveat:  He was suspended on April 12 for a violation of team activities. That said, earlier in the spring Guilbeau had been splitting first-team reps at cornerback. Assuming Guilbeau returns to the coaching staff’s good graces as expected, he’s going to play quite a bit at a position where Texas needs help.

By the way, don't be shocked if some of Texas' true freshmen EDGE rushers like J'mond Tapp end up playing quite a bit. But I didn't want to totally overwhelm this list with Longhorns.

Four Longhorns in 247's list of "The 100 true freshmen who matter in 2022" , including 3 OL.

Yea we’ve never had high star classes that have been busts. And it’s idiotic to rely on incoming freshman to improve a dog shit OL.

The OL will be improved and Campbell is college ready not even stepping foot on campus.

All assumptions.

Don’t be like me and google Brennan Marion Instagram and click on Marion Brennan, schoolteacher account. Because her page is sadly lacking in football information.

Risk of katfidding myself here, but it appears that Marion posted an Instagram story riding in a car with Agiye Hall.

Assuming Hall stole the car and Marion was making him return it.

The more dogshit the OL is the greater chance incoming freshmen can help. Isn’t it more idiotic to count on the dogshit OL?

most of the time even bad upperclassmen are better than 18 year-olds on the OL.  most of the time.

Yeah McWhorter was really doing solid work for those teams when we, checks notes, had shitty offensive lines year in and year out. Christ Vince was under duress a lot. Colt had to learn to throw under 2 seconds. You’re better than this.

Mike Roach - FYI on Diamonte.

Spoiler

Roach

— Tomorrow the Longhorns will host graduate transfer linebacker Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey from James Madison starting tomorrow. In 2021, Tucker-Dorsey had a strong season credited with 116 tackles, nine tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, four interceptions, four pass breakups, and six quarterback hurries. Central Florida is the only other school in the race as of now for the productive linebacker originally from Norfolk, Virginia.
