March 6Mar 6 2022 was Texas' best chance in decades to win their first outdoor national title in mens T&F, but they underperformed in several events and Florida ended up taking it. Hopefully coach Flo can get them in position to win it all again some day. Edited March 6Mar 6 by perfectchaos007

March 6Mar 6 If Texas wants to compete for the Director's Cup in the future, T&F is pretty important. Does anyone have any insight on if this is truly a rebuilding year, and we have good recruits coming etc? For both teams to suddenly drop off like this is a bit jarring.

March 26Mar 26 The beach team has already over performed this season. Preseason expectation was to maybe sneak into the NCAA tournament, but now we could actually be a high seed and make a run.
March 26Mar 26 MBB and volleyball dragged us down. Volleyball is usually good for making at least the Elite 8 and we didn’t

March 27Mar 27 If we are going to hit that projected total, it’s going to be a great spring because that means that golf, softball, baseball, and women’s basketball haven’t underperformed and either won national championships or got to the finals.

I'm hopeful that outdoor T&F performs at a higher level than indoor did - which should help with some additional points.
April 18Apr 18 As our baseball team moved up the rankings our projected points increased. However, the projected points maybe too optimistic. As the #1 baseball team, if we don’t end up winning the CWS, then we drop points compared to the projected total.

They have Wake (RPI 26), @BC (RPI 50), and @NCST (RPI 33) left in conference, as well as a series against Grand Canyon (RPI 64). Plenty of room to secure good wins, but I doubt it happens. They likely miss the tournament. Edited April 22Apr 22 by MuellerHorn

I think he's just cranking out a ton of content -- accurate or not -- to get engagement at this point. NACDA released the official final winter last week: https://nacda.com/documents/2025/4/22/24.25DI_WinterOverall_4.24.pdf
April 28Apr 28 Feel free to check my math but I looked at last year's Top 20 and compared how they did at the end of the Winter rankings compared to same time last year. I also included 4 outliers: teams that are currently in the top 10 but didn't finish in the top 10 last year to get a sense of if they are outliers or if they are just fall/winter heavy:
May 1May 1 Softball needs to get to OKC. They've been playing the last 3 weeks like a team that could disappoint and cost us the cup.
May 5May 5 I wonder if the SEC will start to recognize the All Sports trophy again now that it's become competitive in the last 5 years.
May 14May 14 Looks like UNCs 10rh seeded men's tennis team missed the cut at regionals today. (Stanford and USC missed the cut as well but they were not seeded highly). This should drop their projected finish a bit.
May 15May 15 Men’s golf handles business yesterday at regionals and will advance to the championship site. Women’s golf national championship rounds begin tomorrow. Goal is to make the knockout rounds (top 8 ) Edited May 15May 15 by perfectchaos007
May 15May 15 Last day of upcoming tournaments that will affect the projected top 4 shown above Baseball 6/23, Women's golf 5/21, Men's golf 5/28, Women's lacrosse 5/25, Women's rowing 6/1, Softball 6/6, Women's tennis 5/18, Men's tennis 5/18, Track and field 6/14 In my opinion, for purposes of these projected totals, it's better to go into a tournament and outperform your projection. If you're #1 like North Carolina lacrosse or USC track and don't win, then you lose points compared to your projection.

May 17May 17 Men’s tennis moves into the semis earning 10 more points and also matching their expected points. If they make the finals they will score either 7 or 17 additional points.
May 19May 19 I don’t know if it would have made a difference in the standings, but the Aggies losing the regionals gave Stanford a path to the CWS and scoring more Directors points. But a walkoff homer sent Stanford home, so I’m sure their maximum points just went down.
May 22May 22 #1 Stanford loses to Northwestern in women’s golf in above upset, losing 10 points off their maximum and expected score. Perhaps USC becomes our biggest threat.
May 25May 25 Anything but 2 and Q meets our projected points - and even that only knocks 5 points off the projection
