The show serves the public good. There’s an AgVenture exhibit at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. It’s intended to educate children on where their food comes from. One of the former chairmans pointed out that it’s also very popular with adults because in many cases Texans are 4 generations removed from farming and ranching as their primary occupation.

I think I know the basics, but I’ve picked up a lot from this show.

So, I visit the UK on the regular, mostly to visit fam near London and to do some touristy things. I have yet to visit Clarkson's store/pub/restaurant. Has anyone done this yet? Is it worth it? Seems like it would be but my expectations are high based on my love for the show.

All of us working in ag love what he’s doing.

I love the show, but can we get this poor bastard a F250?! It gives me the sads watching him pull cattle around in a Range Rover.

Amazing how JC can make a show about farming entertaining. He has a knack for assembling the perfect cast, and orchestrating just the right amount of scripting for semi-reality TV.

Also amusing how he's warmly received in America by people who would otherwise hate him if they knew more about him.

At home he's quite a lightning rod: anti-PC, very Tory/conservative, and there's an obvious anti-gov messaging behind his show. It's probably the reason he made the show, because he certainly doesn't need the money or the work. Some of my British coworkers hate his guts.

Seeing the pigs gave me flashbacks. I grew up on a large production hog farm. If I had a nickel for every time I’ve been armpit deep in a sow’s vagina…

The calving episode was so wild. I grew up on a farm but am so far removed nowadays.

I guess this is as good a place as any for this ...

Just popped up in my youtube feed. Clarkson on the USS Eisenhower, a long time ago.
