July 10, 20214 yr Expansion draft is coming up quickly. Short little NHL offseason until we get to the sweet sweet football season. Thousands of Streams The rightsholders cite data from anti-piracy partner ‘Friend MTS,’ which found that pirates offered 53,443 illegal live streams in a four-month period earlier this year, with a mean of 822 distinct IP addresses per week. “Some of these servers are only active and can only be identified during the live broadcast of a popular event and pirates are even able to adjust their infrastructures during the broadcast to attempt to circumvent enforcement measures,” the media companies write. “The Plaintiffs are thus asking this Court to also adapt existing remedies and grant the only effective remedy available in these circumstances to stop such blatant and widespread infringement” https://torrentfreak.com/media-giants-request-dynamic-order-to-block-pirated-nhl-streams-in-canada-210709/ And fuck Sinclair too OILERS NOTES: It's Duncan Keith vs. Vlad Tarasenko on the Edmonton trade front https://edmontonsun.com/sports/hockey/nhl/edmonton-oilers/oilers-notes-its-duncan-keith-vs-vlad-tarasenko-on-the-edmonton-trade-front I am starting to understand why some players don't want to go to team doctors. I don't know if he's going to get his shot back. Both seem risky trades. Anyhow that's a start
July 14, 20214 yr Author Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog has all but confirmed the rumors of a contract impasse. "I can't help but be honest with you that I'm a little bit disappointed that it's gotten this far and it's had to come to this point," Landeskog said of his negotiations with the Avalanche, according to The Athletic's Peter Baugh. Landeskog, 28, is set to hit unrestricted free agency on July 28. It was reported Tuesday that his camp and Colorado are "not even close" in contract discussions. https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/2187172
July 14, 20214 yr damn, add Skinner, Tarasenko, and to some extent Suter and Parise and this is already shaping up to be one of the more exciting nhl offseasons. I'll have to brush up on all the lineup changes before next fantasy season. there's gonna be a lot.
July 15, 20214 yr Author Weber might be done or go on LTIR https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/canadiens-shea-webers-career-threatened-lingering-foot-ankle-problems/ Unfortunately, we could be reaching the end of that situation. According to multiple sources — Weber, the Canadiens, the NHL and the NHLPA are doing their due diligence on the captain’s medical situation and future. He’s been plagued with a left foot/ankle problem that has threatened his career. Weber missed two weeks with an injury there in February 2020 (true to form, he returned much sooner than expected). In March 2018, he had surgery to repair tendons in the area. There’s been a worry for some time this problem would become too much to handle.
July 16, 20214 yr I've never really followed hockey but I want to get into the sport and learn about it. After doing research on teams and etc I think I will pledge my fandom to the Seattle Kraken. Since they are a new team and I am a new fan it just makes sense.
July 17, 20214 yr Yeah, not happy about losing Graves, but he was gone in the draft anyway. Better to get something than nothing.

August 1, 20214 yr This ain’t good. Quote The NHL said it will investigate an allegation seemingly made by Evander Kane's wife that the San Jose Sharks forward bet on his own games and has intentionally tried to lose for gambling profit. The league said Saturday night on Twitter that it was made aware of the social media posts and plans to conduct a full investigation. An Instagram account, appearing to belong to Kane's wife, Anna, posted in a story: "How does the NHL let a compulsive gambling addict still play when he's obviously throwing games to win money? Hmm maybe someone needs to address this." She added: "Can someone ask (Commissioner) Gary Bettman how they let a player gamble on his own games? Bet and win with bookies on his own games?" In a separate story post, Anna Kane accused her husband of spending lavishly partying in Europe while asking her to sell her wedding ring to survive and wrote about not being able to afford baby formula for their child. The NHL said: "The integrity of our game is paramount and the League takes these allegations very seriously." A Sharks team spokesman wrote in an email to The Associated Press that: "The San Jose Sharks have been in contact today with the National Hockey League about the serious allegations made against Evander Kane. We support a full and transparent investigation into the situation to maintain the integrity of the game and consistency with our team values.'' Kane's gambling history and finances have been public knowledge for some time. A Las Vegas Strip casino sued Kane in 2019, alleging he failed to repay a $500,000 gambling debt racked up during a playoff series against the Golden Knights. Since the Supreme Court paved the way for legalized sports gambling in the U.S. and more states have adopted it, the NHL has embraced the possibilities and made several partnerships with sportsbooks and other betting organizations. Reached by email before the league's announcement, Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly said only a statement would be coming. The league said it would not make any further comments at this time. A message sent by The Associated Press to Kane's agent was not immediately returned. Kane, 29, is three seasons into a $49 million, seven-year contract. He's with his third organization after being drafted by and debuting with Atlanta/Winnipeg and a stint in Buffalo. According to Capfriendly, which charts hockey salaries, he has made just under $56 million during his NHL career. Last season, he had 22 goals and 27 assists in 56 games.

August 1, 20214 yr Author She might be crazy, but she big mad too. I seem to recall earlier issues with Kane. Can't remember the details. Betting we are getting a heavily filtered presentation of her insta. Because none of this is on there.

August 4, 20214 yr Author Saw this about Evander. But regardless of how the gambling investigation plays out and the high likelihood that the club won’t be able to move him, several current Sharks would still prefer Kane not return next season, according to multiple sources. Kane’s relationship became increasingly strained with his teammates last season, and it was made clear to general manager Doug Wilson by some of them that the organization would be better off finding a way to separate itself from him and the four years and $28 million he has remaining on his contract. It’s quite the conundrum for Wilson, who has made some key offseason moves with the aim of returning the Sharks to the playoffs in 2021-22. Losing Kane would leave a huge on-ice void and might hurt in the short term, as the depth chart below reveals. But parting with Kane might help the Sharks take a positive step towards reestablishing the kind of culture they’ve been seeking ever since Joe Pavelski departed for Dallas. https://theathletic.com/2749370/2021/08/03/sharks-updated-depth-chart-evander-kane-will-leave-a-void-on-the-ice-if-hes-not-back/ According to one source, the frustration with Kane stemmed from a general “disrespect for team rules,” such as being late for practices and games. “And zero consequences came, which caused a ripple effect with other, younger guys,” added the source. According to another source: “It wasn’t easy dealing with him this season.” From the linked quote
