July 14, 20214 yr Who do you think Seattle nabs? I think it'll either be Dobby or Dickie. After that, I got nothing.
July 15, 20214 yr Dobby is a flimsy maybe. After last year's performance, due to covid or not, probably diminished his desirability. I'd take Dickie at this point. I really don't know who all is going to be available.

July 15, 20214 yr Author maybe he hates it in Dallas. I dunno. just didn't think he would do that. will be interesting to see how it all shakes out
July 15, 20214 yr The Stars must submit their expansion protected list on Saturday. It is now expected to be Jamie Benn (NMC), Tyler Seguin (NMC), Alexander Radulov (NMC), Roope Hintz, Denis Gurianov, Radek Faksa, Joe Pavelski, John Klingberg, Miro Heiskanen, Esa Lindell and Khudobin. from Saad earlier today
July 16, 20214 yr Good article from Heika on the Bishop decision. https://www.nhl.com/stars/news/dallas-stars-goaltender-ben-bishop-waives-no-movement-clause-for-nhl-expansion-draft/c-325665720?tcid=tw_news_content_id
July 17, 20214 yr Author think I read he was the last from the 2013 class to be on the team. That was Nill's first class, no?
July 21, 20214 yr Author hearing it's gonna be oleksiak for the Stars. not surprised, but now that he won't be around to protect Miro, I'm curious if we pick someone up (especially considering we also lost Johns)
July 24, 20214 yr Seems like we got a lot of value in our day 2 picks. Not sure about the guy we took in round 1 though.

July 28, 20214 yr Author my guess is that Bish is not going to be able to play this season. or the Stars are planning to ship out a goalie. I think we still need F help

July 28, 20214 yr well at least they are shaking things up a little, who knows if it will work *not directed at you F4H, we posted at the same time, I'm just saying in general Edited July 28, 20214 yr by Bill Brasky
July 28, 20214 yr my least favorite signing since Martin Hanzal. Nill’s desire to win now doesn’t need to hamstring us 3-4 years into the future. Hanzal was for Hitch because hitch loves giant bodies that hit and hasn't really adapted past 90's 00's hockey. I like the Suter signing mostly because of the minimal cap hit but yeah wish the term was shorter. Until last season, he was fairly consistent with his point production and games played. Here's hoping he's not another reincarnation of Gonchar or injured Methot.

August 11, 20214 yr Coming in at #9 of worst contracts At just under $10 million, the expectation is about 2.7 wins of value which is roughly the cutoff for an elite forward. Seguin was once one of the league’s very best, but it’s difficult to see him continue to be that as he enters his 30s. He’s currently projected to be worth one win less than that with his expected future value declining further from there through the duration of the contract. Even over the next four years where there’s a wide range of outcomes possible, the high end of the scale doesn’t quite reach the necessary level to live up to his deal. Coming off such a massive injury, something the model doesn’t account for, will only make that harder. https://theathletic.com/2747231/2021/08/11/the-nhls-10-worst-contracts-2021-edition-drew-doughty-retains-his-title-but-sharks-are-coming-for-him/ But we're not the Sharks.
