The new one with Bill Burr was really good.

Spoiler

Goddamn, the flashback of Elora finding Daniel was rough.  And then Bill Burr's tweaker daughter and him telling Elora about her mom dying...pretty bleak.

Thought this was another great episode. Didn't think they'd turn the emotional route, but kinda saw the "suicide as a Native issue" episode coming after the last episode when they just hinted at what happened to Daniel. You figured it was a bit about him being both Native and a young Male in that place. Acting has been great from both of the lead girls in these episodes.

Knew it was coming and was still devastated. I also recognized the parallel to Waititis Jojo Rabbit. Just gutwrenching. Bill Burr was great, really represents the struggles of rural Oklahoma and young people falling prey to meth and opioids. The way they mix humor and drama is masterful.

I enjoyed this episode a lot.  I think last week was better but this one was great.  My wife started crying when she saw him.

I'm all in on these kids.

Caught the first two episodes last night.  Best show on TV right now.  Not reading this thread until I get completely caught up.

Not sure i know a show or movie to convey despair as well as this one does.

What got me was how Elora was trying to communicate her feelings to Daniel, but he was far too deep into depression to see it.

Need an episode of hijinks to even me out after that.

I'm thinking the next episode is going to be all about Daniel since the last four covered the four main characters.  Maybe just the characters and the community dealing with Daniel's suicide.

Willie Jack is the absolute best. Watch her face in the scenes where she isn’t talking, she’s a fantastic actress. Loving the show.

I didn't realize this was the season finale.  Assumed there would be ten.

How long do we think Elora makes it before she turns back? Does she even get to the first gas stop? That other girl hopped in the car and said some dumb shit immediately and Elora's face already had regret. Great episode, the only one I even thought was average was the ride-along one, but I thought the rest were very solid, can't wait for season two.

Great final episode. Could have done without naked Brownie. But Willie Jack and and The Spirit are great. I love how WJ tacks “fuck” onto the end of things.

Great series and season, start to finish. I liked the reference to Friday (after I watched this episode I watched S3E3 of Sex Education and there was a subtle reference to The Big Lebowski).

Looking forward to season two. Shit-ass.

Willy Jack is hiding some huge tracts of land under her loose fitting clothing.  I love this show.

So I didn’t realize that Elora Danan chick is almost 30 in real life. Makes me feel better for wanting to bad things to her front bottom.

Also I didn’t realize this season was only 8 episodes… coulda sworn I saw on IMDb that is was a 9 episode season.

Such a good show.

This may be TMI, but during my dysfunctional childhood, shit-ass was mom's favorite reference of dad.  Made me laugh through the show.

I might have posted this before from an earlier episode and too lazy to look up but spirit guide's random war whoops while carrying on a conversation kill me every time.  I lost it when he started coughing.

Good shit. I think Elora isn’t going to Cali, she’s going to “the city”, wherever that is. She’ll be back.

Tulsa or OKC City?

Oh wait, it's Oklahoma, she probably means Dallas.

According to "The Watch" podcast, Elora and the spirit guy are joining the writing team for next season.

started watching b/c my friends said it was great. I like the show, don't love it. But that might have to do more with the fact that i've mostly watched while working from home so it's been on in the background and I paid earnest attention only sporadically. Just weren't a lot of scenes that jumped out and demanded attention. But I'll have to rewatch cause doesn't seem like that type of "action" show.

As for the suicide stuff in native communities, I was completely unaware until recently but it wasn't jarring for me here only cause I've unwittingly been seeing a lot of shows on that in the last month. From the Grizzlies on netflix to Yellowstone on paramount, all three have had suicide as a huge issue in the community. It was the most brutal in Grizzlies, sadly very common in young people too.

This show kept popping up on suggestions while I was watching Letterkenny.

Ok, fine. I might as well check it out. Totally hooked.

I've gone so far as to research Tall Man and Deer Lady. Found the 1491s.

Sterlin was on with Bill Burr on his podcast a while back. I will have to check out his movies, but I know going in that it's his dark phase. He talked to Bill about doing these woke up his comedic parts.

Can't fucking wait for season two.

Greasy frybread.  Greasy greasy fry bread.

It's a gem of a show. Congratulations on finding it

Go back and watch it with full attention. It's fucking outstanding. I'll watch anything Taiki Waititi is involved with these days.
