It's a large Texas forum. Every thread will largely be dominated by Texas posters. This is news? Not only that, it's funny in some form? My view is that the Big 12 will be fine as the 4th of 4 la

I've gotta say, suspending the crew for that missed kick-off / punt crap is pretty bush-league compared to the crews we dealt with in the past (OSU 2022 or 2015, e.g.)  That play did not change the outcome of the game, extend a drive, or really benefit the kicking team in ANY way.  Hell, the receiving team got a good start due to the crappy kick.  No seemingly malicious intent...

Let's start suspending crews for missed targeting, missed face masks, things that are actually critical for player safety.

Any league is going to take a dimmer view of screwing up rule implementation than they do missed calls.  There’s a missed call on almost any play in a football game but not knowing or applying the rule book in a clear cut situation is much bigger screwup.

Missing an offensive holding call sucks but happens; stepping off five yards and not ten on the call is inexcusable.

The Ireland thing I get as it's week 0. This though makes no sense other than money yet you're purposefully giving up a home game.

What did England do to deserve that?

The SEC will reveal Tuesday *all* opponents for every team in its new 9-game schedule for football in 2026. The 3 "permanent" rivals will be referred to as "annual opponents," which will be reviewed every 4 years.

It isn't hard B12, even if nobody wants to play UCF every year.

Wait until the NFL picks what teams play in London next year

America is finally punishing England in the year of the Sestercentennial

With eggs and some bacon or sausage it can be pretty good actually.

Give these a try while you're there.

That explains Kansas City so much better...

At least the league has left no doubt vs the ACC

Top teams just need to keep winning,

The ACC is going to take each other other,  still not sold on a number of SEC and Big 10 teams so I don't buy the only 1 team in if the Big 12 ends up with a couple of teams playing in the title game with either no loss or 1 loss.

I'm of the opinion at this point that the ESPN FPI is generally a piece of shit and weights unrealistically towards the SEC.

FPI is a very strong predictive metric. Think it ranked just a hair behind Sagarin last season and was better than SP+.

Umm....a bit a recenty bias because I would counter with DeShaun Foster a few days ago.

Neither is much of the ACC outside of two teams which now that I think about it might be a good description for the Big 10.

The B10 is much better than the ACC. Michigan, Nebraska, SC, Indiana are all good teams that would do well in the ACC.

Oregon, tOSU and PSU are elite.

Agree that SC and Indiana look to be good, not sure on Michigan, they are very good defensively but no sure on offense>

Nebraska is blah to me.

I think it is still too early to truly know who is good or not for many of these teams.

Holy cow, I just looked at USC's schedule and there and outside of ND and Oregon there aren't many games that I thought really should pose a threat to them and they aren't exactly a rolling ball of butcher knives.

How the hell did Sparty score 31 points?

I would offer Charlie Strong after Kansas in 2016. But I just thought this was a funny post.

Does Les Miles want to come back to okie lite?

Don't they still love him there?  Lulz.

Tech is another cautionary tale for the national talking heads. The Big 12 is the world’s largest bar fight. Nobody is going to run away with the conference.

The conference title and the CFP are still in play, but they’re going to get smoked against any real defense in the postseason.

I think they still have the nicest house in the neighborhood with their NIL resources. But Arizona State has a real coaching staff, they’re  located in a good and growing recruiting state + proximity to Southern California.

What a dogshit conference

BYU students storming the field was odd. They were ranked higher and favored against Utah. Additionally, they’ve won the last 3 meetings.

Yikes... Sure seems like Aranda will get fired soon

Baylor parts ways with offensive assistant due to "personal matter"

By Doug Samuels       Oct 27, 2025

Dave Aranda and Baylor are sitting at 4-4 with a big matchup against Scott Frost and UCF looming this weekend as they continue to battle to become bowl eligible.

They will enter that game against the Knights down a key offensive coach.

Aranda confirmed today at his presser that offensive line coach Mason Miller is no longer with the program.

Miller spent the past two seasons with the program, and his absence is due to what Aranda referred to as simply a "personal matter."

"It's a personal matter with Mason. My heart, my thoughts and my best wishes for his future go out to him and his family," Aranda shared today.

No further details have been provided on the move.

A longtime offensive line coach in the Air Raid offense with stops working under Mike Leach at both Mississippi State and Washington State, Miller arrived in Waco after a season serving as the offensive coordinator at FCS level Tarleton State in 2023. That season marked his second calling plays for the program, previously serving in the same capacity from 2014-16.

Prior to linking up with Leach, Miller worked in the offensive system under Hal Mumme at multiple stops including Valdosta State, Southeastern Louisiana, New Mexico State and McMurray.

Baylor has not yet shared who will be stepping into the role vacated by Miller.

Despite returning four of five starters up front, the Baylor offensive line has struggled on the ground so far this season, ranking 89th nationally at right around 140 yards per game.

To reach bowl eligibility, the Bears need a pair of wins against a tough upcoming schedule that includes home games against UCF and Utah before hitting the road to take on Arizona. Their season finale is against Houston at McLane Stadium.

If they decide that Aranda is gone, they need to do it soon. I don't know who they'd get. Maybe Kinnie or Traylor.

The Big 12 still isn't beating the "truck-stop conference" allegations.

Good point, “truck stop conference” is so unoriginal anyway.
