Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread

I'm not going to invoke the name of our aggie-obsessed pundit, but I wonder if he has the receipts to all of these maroon yarns.  It would make a great little novella.

The false narratives they fabricate and then attribute to us are truly fascinating. Like peeking in the window of a padded room in an insane asylum.

I guess that's why they say "From the outside, you can't understand it. From the inside, you can't explain it." All true. Thankfully.

Are you saying going to buc-ees doesn't count?  And 300 lb water buffalo Katy suburban housewives aren't co-eds?  You sir have too high standards

Orrrr they could just be placating you knowing that your very existence hinges on people thinking your school is as good or better than mean ole "tu".

Their entire culture is based on trying to prove things about their school and incessantly screaming about how great they are. Giant logos, countless redundant bumper stickers, entire wardrobes made up of ag shirts, whooping and hissing in public, etc.

This has to be parody.

Likewise, I hope Sark knows the best way to fire up the team before they play Vandy is to hang some pictures of the 1928 scoreboard. Thats why we pay him the big bucks

What is this eternal obsession with Horns Down? Most Texas fans could care less if someone does Horns Down. That's just the inevitable cost of having a well-recognized symbol like Hook em Horns that your team is known for. Nobody does Thumbs Down because Gig Em' Aggies is a symbol that is both obscure and stupid.

I'll never forget watching the second half of the A&M-Oklahoma State game in 2011. The No.8 Aggies led the #7 Cowboys 20-3 before choking their way to a 30-29 loss on the hallowed grounds of Kyle Field. The kind of loss that would have any Longhorn fan pissed if it happened to us. Yet, at game's end, when the TV cameras panned the crowd, there were these two clusterfuck idiots in maroon and white smiling as they did Horns Down. WTF? That's the same as admitting you're not a serious football program, you have no expectations of ever being one, and you don't even have your own identity. Big brother is living rent free in your head, or would be if he ever deigned to spend any time in that mentally deficient rat's nest.

How much less could they care?

They lie about how the penalty for taunting using another school hand sign came to be. A Texas receiver holstered a gun after scoring against Tech in Lubbock. We were penalized 15 yards. That's why we went to the commissioner: apply the rule equally.

So they lie about us complaining simply because our feelings were hurt.

Built on that lie is the even dumber one that doing the horns down to a Longhorn has some sort of magical power. You see it in their faces when they do it. They look like yokels celebrating how their sacred traditions are what make the sun rise.

They think we are in for an unpleasant surprise facing the deadly grind of the SEC. They thing we're soft from top to bottom.

Not to mention those morons in the screenshots saying we get other fanbases penalized (or want them penalized) for doing it. That’s not a thing.

Guys. Today I was at a meeting with a space force customer. We were discussing missile warning and missile tracking payloads in low earth orbit and the topic of how Texas is going to the sec and everyone hates them came up. But I told them that when I’m on vacation I usually always run into someone from the SEC that doesn’t like aggy.

so yeah.

While I'd love for these stories to all be true, I find them all very unbelievable.

Why would a Florida fan, at a lunch meeting, start a comparison of the way ATM and Texas joined the conference? Who thinks like that besides an aggie? Has anyone on this board ever gotten involved with a conversation about how either team "joined" the SEC with anyone else? I can't be the only person that finds that "topic" as banal and bizarre as part of any kind of conversation with another human.

In fairness it couldn't have been more different. Aggy joined the sec on its knees giving blowjobs and taking trains out of gratitude to be there. Texas joins the SEC as a peer to the big boys in the room.

All of these stories are believable as the stories about fans asking for directions to the stadium.  They're all horseshit.  Now aggies may bring that shit up at lunch with their SEC friends and everyone else at the table knows they're crazy so they just go along with it.

I have had discussions with a bunch of colleagues from SEC schools (my company is based in ATL) and the extent of the conversations have been, “good move, it will be fun.” They then ask about areas to stay in Austin when their team plays us at home. Not 1 person has ever talked about how we entered the SEC let alone how aggy entered.

I doubt that guy’s even employed.

since they went off on sark based on 2 soundbites in florida last week, there has been a torrent of echo-chamber confirmation bias content, seemingly out of left field, and taken up a notch from the typical "dear penthouse / donkeykong directions"

occam's razor: they're terrified

I've only worked as an adult on the West Coast, but my understanding of how "business" is conducted in the south is something like everyone rolls in to the office park in their 4-door, extended cab pickups, talks about the SEC/liberal media for a few hours while either wearing a NASCAR t-shirt or a dri-fit golf shirt, and then heads out early to pickup a 84 ounce sweet tea on their way home to the trailer park/suburban hell-scape. Is that not right?

JesusSD anticipates most of my response to you. It could be it was just another Aggie at the table tossing another of their Tourette's  ejaculations. I've wondered for years now if the Aggies who generate these lies believe they are part of a psy-ops campaign against an enemy. Seriously. Their fake military can convince themselves of anything. I can imagine a meeting in a corps dorm as they pass around the "milk" jar. "Yea man! That's redass! We'll show those tu queers! Is it my turn for you to watch me jack off into the jar?"

I also think the internet has concentrated their former eccentric, envious dislike for tu into a raging, jealous, self-righteous hatred. The non-2%ers are fully unhinged. I've become anthropologically obsessed them because of their unique jihad against a sports rival. No other rival in the nation is like them at all.

They're more stalker than rival.

I was at a meeting with people from the southeast. In one of the breaks, somebody asked where I was from. Texas.

"Are you an Aggie?! We love the polite Aggies. They're always so well oriented as to their stadium which is the most awesome place and atmosphere I've ever experienced! My kids are all having second thoughts about going to my alma mater, and I don't blame them!"

"No. I went to UT."

"Tennessee doesn't have a school in Texas!"

"The University of Texas."

"Ugh! You entered the SEC like a nasty infection! The Aggies joined marching in their resplendent uniforms with unbelievable class!"

They all started hissing and doing the Horns down. They became red in the face and proceeded to drag me outside for spitting on and kicking. I curled fetal like the coward Longhorn we all are. Eventually they stopped.

They'd put in quite an effort as it was a Teams meeting over the phone, and I was at home at the time.

Them ags love to tell their sip stories. Just wait til November 30th at Kyle Field. By god, I’m really gonna give ‘em something to remember and post about on TexAgs. I’ve been working with a personal trainer to be prepared to strut into Aggieland with a formidable pair of forearms trained to push sweet, old grandmas outta my way and down steps. My level of arrogance and despicable conduct will be told and retold for years. When I’m not pushing sweet Aggy grannies, I’ll be cussin’ aggy children. The most vile, uncivilized, and inappropriate tee yew filth spat out just to land upon the ears of those precious little future cosplay soldiers, farmers, and middle managers. I’ll soldier through the pearl clutching and gasping, the hisses, the “how dare yous” and “well, I nevers,” and probably have to stare down some aggy manlet with a hero complex who will retreat when he gets close enough to see the forearms. I’m gonna show ‘em a level of arrogance that they’ll think only existed in their minds and on their message boards. A loud, swaggering mix of bragging, boasting, cussing, and spitting while mocking BCS and those poooor aggies, and singing the praises of Austin and THE University. I’ll confirm their suspicions of me being the worst kind of sip by stating that I didn’t even graduate from Texas, I’m a tee shirt fan living off the generational wealth of my straight ticket Democrat voting family.

Then again, if I did all of that and some aggy made a TexAgs post to bear witness and vent their disgust, the replies would be along the lines of, “Yeah, that’s what they all do.  It’s who they are.”

This is actually the proper use of "could care less" because there are lots of guys on this forum who lose their minds when someone does it.

You aggys are the real deal.  The way to committed to the b12 conference only to run away the following year to escape the shadow of Texas and achieved....  um...  was so different than how Texas and OU left the conference with every school fighting tooth and nail to keep them in as long as possible...   yeah..  I wonder why that played out like that.

I seem to remember the first aggy did was petition the conference for a waiver of the SEC student section rules.  Because turdition overrides conference rules.

First thing I remember is gomer putting billboards up in various SEC locales, letting them know the gomers were on their way and them having slapping each other on the back, throwing congratulations parties.

Also, I talk to SEC fans every day as well and they tell me how excited they are for Texas to be in the conference, how they have written Sankey many thank you notes and how they hope gomer leaves the conference. I talk to thousands of SEC fans daily.

if they keep this up they are going to fuck around and drop a game or more that should have been walkaways because they are going to have their players believing they only have a 1-game season

'Why would a Florida fan, at a lunch meeting, start a comparison of the way ATM and Texas joined the conference? Who thinks like that besides an aggie? Was this the lunch meeting in question? Gomer your on the fryer again.
