I don't think Ewers will ever amount to much as a starter in the NFL either. He's too brittle, for one. He self-sacks and hears footprints too much as well. That said, if the guy has a career like Colt McCoy after going around the same draft slot, who the hell wouldn't consider that a successful career? He'd make $40+M playing 10 years in the pros as a back-up QB.

Aggy has finally figured us out , we paid Quinn not to transfer just like we keep paying Aggy QBs to transfer out to keep them down

Now suddenly Arch doesnt have an arm and makes poor decisions. Oh yeah, and he is injury prone.

Man, my favorite post in that new traunch is for sure the "Arch had a chance to take the starting role, and didnt, so he sucks." Nevermind the one guy who correctly pointed out where he'd rank nationally if he played a couple more games at the same level. But they can't even point to Manning's stats for 2024 and say "See, he sucks." Because his stats are fucking good.

If Manning played the entire year at the same clip as the 3 games he started, including the playoffs, he'd have over 4800 passing yards, 48 passing TDs, and 11 picks. Oh, and throw in another 16 rushing TDs and 500 rushing yards.

What a catastrophe. Yes, that's a huge oversimplification, and yes those #s are a swag that aren't entirely accurate, but that's the ballpark if he started 16 games based on the 3 he did start.

You’re probably right. But in the words of Liucci, “Weigman is that guy.”

The fact that they act like they know anything about the dynamics of losing a 5 star QB to the draft and replacing him with another 5 star QB is so.......well.....it can only be summed up in one word: "Aggy"

That would also require the ability to read the stats.

Personally I chuckle any time they use Chris Simms as a pejorative. He absolutely torched them over his career.

And you can absolutely smell their fear of Arch.

Sure they can. There’s just the minor tweek that only the stats against Georgia are representative of what he will be next season, because utsa, ulm, and miss st are bad teams.

I would have loved to have 'only a Chris Simms' between Colt and Ehlinger or between Ehlinger and Ewers

We had a long list of shitty QBs during those dark times

We all know Arch will struggle from time to time as he gains experience but everyone can see the talent. Yet aggy follows a predictable pattern. They know Arch is talented but they convince themselves that he won't be successful, so that they can feel good until their next loss to us. This past season they did it with Ewers, the run game, our OL and our DL to no avail.

That's mostly an oldies but dummies thread, a parrot fest if you will. This was new:

image.png.ea101b66ff7f2c57fa2b44a07dec419d.png

He understands our underhanded, toxic ways as his brain is squirming like a toad figuring us all out.

Yeah Arch and his 184 pass rating with 13 touchdowns as a freshman relief QB suck so hard.

Yeah, and he wasn't good in high school.  8500 yards passing at 8.5 per attempt with 115 passing TDs against 19 INTs really was shitty.  (And he had 19 rushing TDs).  He really just sucked.  Despite having much better numbers than both of his HOF uncles did at the same high school.

Per Texags he really was not good this year.  Or in high school.

Aggies, is there anything they don't know about excellent QB play??

Well, on the other hand with 70,000 supposedly enrolled in that degree factory, there should be at least a handful online who are not operating with a smooth cerebrum.

A bunch of my college friends are sending their kids to A&M. The state's population has grown a lot and getting into UT is hard. I am not sure if these kids who grew up as Longhorns suddenly become redass, or remain 2%ers, or something in between. A&M has also gotten so big that Fish Camp fills up within hours or minutes of the slots opening up, so at least, a smaller percentage of the incoming class is getting the immediate indoctrination.

At the public in-state price point, A&M seems to be the next best option for a lot of people. Not exactly sure why UT-Dallas isn't higher on people's lists, but for whatever reason, it just isn't. Or maybe getting into UTD is also very competitive (I don't know).

I'm not going to include the many lengthy replies to this post, but you can easily imagine where it goes from here. A post about us, telling others not to post about us, of course leads to more posting about us...and then more. It's a classic case study in incestuous bickering and rent-free living.

I can’t tell you how much money I’ve paid Aggies to post online slamming their starter and demanding the backup play. I call my fund “The Potbanger Pot.”

Every year, like clockwork, I find hundreds of them willing to take me up on the offer and declare the backup to be the next Heisman winner. Suckers. Been doing it on Texags at least since 1995. Maybe since the 80s.

Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Let's see, the subject is basically great QBs; they immediately think of VY and then argue he really wasn't that great. They even dredge some old shit nuggets about how the game was given to Texas. I don't know if these guys met later at the Dixie Chicken to saw Varsities horns off together or not.

They met together at the Dixie Chicken for their weekly Glory Hole Convocation.

Yes, all of America from Bryan to Katy will realize that A&M has at last arrived! They will be the talk of several Texas counties. At last, the love and appreciation for that special place will wash over Aggies (from other Aggies) everywhere. Huge indeed, my friend, huge indeed.

They continue to know absolutely nothing about Texas. Our projected OL for nexy year.

LT - Goosby - 3rd year in the program - kicked their ass in CS in place of Banks, also started playoff games, would be the #1 OL if he went into the portal.

LG - Umeozulu - 4th in the program - has been in the rotation for the past 2 seasons.

C - Robertson/Hutson - both are 4th year program guys - Roberston played almost the entire 2023 OU game after Majors went down early. Hutson has started plenty of games at Texas.

RG - Campbell - 4th year in the program - 3 year starter

RT - Baker - 2nd year in program, former 5-star that has been groomed for this spot for over nearly 2 years.

Just like at qb, if the backups were better, they’d have been starting this year!  Ipso whoop facto

The talent is certainly there, and aggy is (as usual) overprojecting when they hope the O-line will be a disaster.  But anytime you have to replace both tackles as well as the guy who directed traffic the last three seasons, it's reasonable to expect that there will be bumps in the road, esp. in the early going as they gel.  This line should be good at some point, but it's going to take a while.  Sorry if I'm raining on anyone's parade.  Just calling it as I see it.

Every starter Texas has to replace will be a major downgrade, while every starter A&M has to replace will be all-SEC.
