I can tell you that overalls are very popular with my wife's 40+ mom friend group. I think they're pretty silly.

This place has rules, you asshole.

Overalls are functional as fuck. If you do any yard work where you bend over all lot, the easy fitting overalls are where it’s at. I got a pair when I was 13 (Big Smith) and own a second pair now (Dickies). Kinda like wearing a pancho instead of a coat. Wears easier and free-er.

Better to lay pipe in.

Only until your wife starts filling your miserable little quarter acre with a corporate farm's worth of plants and plant-related infrastructure.

The amount of water used to keep augustine grass green is beyond idiotic in drought prone areas. Buffalo grass looks more interesting and managed to grow all over the plains without anything but rain.

I'm sure the geniuses at A&M are spreading the word throughout the state.

Can you idiots get back to the work of posting aggie idiocy and your comments on said posts? Yard work discussion is a new low. Thanks.

My dad and all his business/drinking/hunting buddies wore these in the 70s.  I have no idea why.

I have arthritic thumbs. I can pick up rocks and do outside work all day long. The things that bother me the most include mixing tuna-salad, washing a coffee cup, or unbuttoning my wranglers to take a leak, which comes up about 20x a day.

The idea of not having to open and close buttons on my clothes is very appealing.

Pearl snap shirts are easy. Trading my wranglers for sweats, track suits, and overalls is a much tougher choice to make.

That is an admission that I'm as old as my friends, and I'm not there yet.

That is just an egregious amount of tuna salad.

Well, at least one of those goobers actually listed many rational and likely true reasons.

But he still didn't list the most important one-- Texas is an elite blue blood destination job in college baseball, and Texas A&M is not.

I like to think Alan Jackson mows his own yard with a little bitty grass and a little bitty trees.

Fair. But I think he left because he was surrounded by a cult of out-of-touch weirdos with a grossly overinflated estimation of their place in the college athletics landscape, and being around Aggy every day made him miserable.

Oooohh, poooor agggy, if it were only this simple. Here is what Meta AI says about aggy getting laughed at:

Here are some reasons why Texas A&M fans, also known as "Aggies," might be teased or laughed at:
  • The 12th Man: While the tradition of the 12th Man is revered by Aggies, others might view it as arrogant or entitled. weird as shit.
  • Reveille: The university's collie mascot, Reveille, is beloved by Aggies. However, some might find it amusing that a dog holds such an important role.
  • The Corp of Cadets: The Corps' strict discipline and uniforms might lead to jokes about  shows Aggies being are "military wannabes."
  • Farm-themed jokes: As an agricultural and mechanical university, Texas A&M is often subjected to farm-themed jokes and stereotypes.
  • SEC move: The decision to leave the Big 12 for the SEC led to jokes about Aggies "buying their way" into a more prestigious conference.
  • Johnny Football: The brief, tumultuous career of Johnny Manziel, a.k.a. "Johnny Football," led to jokes about Aggies' inflated sense of self-importance.
  • Overemphasis on tradition: Aggies take pride in their unique traditions, but others might view this emphasis as overly sentimental or stubborn turdition.
  • Rivalry losses: Texas A&M's struggles against rival teams like the University of Texas and LSU might lead to jokes about Aggies being unable to win big games.

12th Man…not that bad of a tradition when viewed without orange tinted glasses.

Reveille…again not that bad of a tradition.  Lots of schools have dogs as mascots.  The tradition of taking her to class and ending it when she barks is a little quirky.  The dead dogs’ scoreboard is weird.

Yell Leaders…the weirdest tradition going at a&m.

Midnight Yell…so outdated and cringy.

Have you heard about the dead dog cemetary?  The nut squeezing?  The reverence for a bonfire that killed 12 students?

In fairness, those are smoothed river rocks that are more likely to give when an old man has a fall.

Go on please. I’ve re-sod yard three times in San Antonio and everything dies from heat. Have areas mixed shade and direct sun. I think last was centipede hybrid. Advice appreciated!
