May 27May 27 Vaughn will jump at the opportunity, I imagine. His dad played there. Would be a good hire for them. O'Connor gives me Jimbo vibes, lightning in a bottle championship with worsening results since (2023 being an outlier). I hope he is the hire
May 27May 27 They’re going after the Vitello who used them just last year to get a raise/extension? Sure Jan.
May 27May 27 Popular Post I’m going to be surprised if they’re able to get anything done beyond a Pierce-level hire. They don’t have the money to just go nuts or they’d be spending differently across the board already. The environment there is toxic. They’re surrounded, like in every other sport, by powers in the sport with better history, better backgrounds and locations and more resources. Anyone going there is making a pure money grab. Vaughn would be a fool to do it. O’Connor? Sure, take the money. Sullivan and Vitello? LOL. The one guy they could get that I would have no interest in seeing at ATM is Canham. So I’m sure they’ll not even contact him.

I hope he is the hire I actually think O’Connor would be a good hire for them even though Vaughn or Canham would be better. He’s the sole architect of making that program what it is today. Jimbo was gifted a Ferrari at FSU and we all know how that went. O’Connor would at a minimum raise the floor for Aggie and run a competent program. I just don’t think they can pull him away from Virginia since he got a raise last year.

I really also think that UT has the position of, if we’re going to pay a team to come in and play us OOC, it might as well be a state school with UT in their name. Hence the UTEP and UTSA rotation. Giving $$$ back to family! It’s up to UTEP to get “better” like UTSA. Hook’em!!!

Something that A&M knows nothing about since they regularly pillage the satellite schools for resources to fund their texum aggy football traditions. The hell you say? They've spit on Prairie View fans multiple times. Of course that was just because they are black.

May 28May 28 Look at their recent hires... Trev, Elko, Earley, Bucky. Maybe Bucky works out but from all their bravado on hiring a "big" splash name, would any SEC school take one of those fliers? They've cemented the no one is taking our coach again status, for all the wrong reasons. At this point, maybe a Pop Warner BB coach would suit them fine. They were in the red (fiscally) from the AD last year. They aren't money whipping anyone to come there. They'll toss out some big names, get them raises, then settle on a schmuck that nobody really cares about or wants. Go Trev!

May 28May 28 In contrast, look at what CDC and our BoR have done. Sark - they raved about how he came to his interviews with a detailed plan - who he would hire, how he would recruit, playstyle he would use on both side, etc. Schloss, well he's damn good. Miller, I have to think he presented a detailed plan for us. These are coaches any SEC/Big10 would like to have. We are blessed. And Sark does lose coaches ( a good sign when NFL poaches your coaches) but seems to always upgrade the positions. 2025 football will be interesting. I think 2026 is the full on year. Not saying we can't do it this year at all. We can. Does aggie have a single coach in the big 3 sports we would take? I don't think they do? A coach Miss. State would take, maybe?
