They always show up to help at disasters in full Aggie regalia and act as though they're the only alumni that pitch in. It's just like they're the only ones who fight America's wars. Delusional narcissism.

@Hank Kingsley posted on the camp flood thread that taffee has two cousins that were counselors at La junta. No clue how to verify that, but there’s your connection, aggy.

I mean, do you need a connection to a terrible tragedy that occurred in your backyard to honor the victims, many of whom were children.  I think the basic connection of being a decent human being should be enough.

Anyway, fuck Aggy. Proud of Taffe

Well said. I don't have children, but the horror of those girls' last living moments was deeply disturbing in a way that many stories are not to me. Again, I think of the transition from being happily sleeping or awake in a snug cabin during a heavy rain turning to absolute deadly chaos. It's haunting.

Taaffe's tie is tasteful and understated. It invites a question rather than screaming an answer. Compliments to the man.

Could honestly be the title of this whole thread.

And at least Taaffe didn't cause the tragedy in question, unlike A&M with a certain pagan fire ritual everyone with a functioning brain stem knew was a bad idea.

Yeah, if our guy really had an empathetic bone in his body, he'd have gone with the initials of those heroic bonfire builders instead. Don't understand how he could be so callous as to tip his hat to some sleeping 8-year-olds while ignoring reckless college kids who died before he was born. Shame on him.

Can't wait for our guys to again dismantle these petulant dorks in November. Although I'm sure several other teams will have done so long before then.

The Taaffe family tree and their circle of friends have a lot of history with these summer camps. I can only imagine how many people they know who were deeply affected by this tragedy.

I know people who have worked with Taaffe's mom at a summer camp. It wasn't in Hunt, but no doubt this hit close to home.

I’m shocked that their posts are completely inconsistent and are claiming diametrically opposite positions at the same time. Shocked.

Let’s be honest. Billy Liucci will probably hold a Kerr County fundraiser from which all the proceeds will go to Aggie NIL in the name of the victims- after Texags gets its cut. They’re so virtuous and always the heroes.

Didn't you know? All of their team and the entire university and alumni personally rescued those in need, and I heard RC Slocum personally climbed to the top of the towers and tried to rescue those by the thousands.

Ah, yes, our highly illegal class of 2022. I wouldn't doubt aggy believes a tu operative poisoned Cristobal's mom in Florida so he'd leave Oregon abruptly for Miami and thus hand us Banks and Williams. It's a shame that even with such nefarious moves we still assembled no better than the No. 5 class while Jimbo was being as pure as the driven snow in signing CFB's "best class evar."

1 Never heard of him. Sounds like a cool story. Tell me about this cat.

2 Don't want any riff-raff talking during the film!

3 Brandon, baby, It's a touching, inspirational (bad signs for those seeking entertainment) film about what? Say the word!

4 Cultural shifts and family military. Ok. Still, what are you talking about?

5 The man himself! "Breaking a color tradition" and the military thing again.

6 Nice vocabulary but not exactly illuminating. Sorta get the idea it has something to do with Negroes. We're in the fourth paragaph here. What did this man do?

image.png.8a05b8acefd098832a5757328d47adc3.png

7 Excellent distinction, corps vs military. Pointed, perhaps?

8 "Reasonable age" vs Aggie Corps. I think we can see why it took 55 years to publish this story, and even now they can only allude to McElroy's race.

9 Ahh! The first concrete achievement! Clearly Aggies see this as key to how they feel about him. He caught a touchdown pass!

10 So, catching the pass was a personal triumph for him (somehow he shares his personal triumph) and others over their experiences. They won!

I can see why it was a big deal. Beating #12 LSU made the Aggies (2-0) undefeated with tons of momentum heading into a battle with #1 Ohio State who then shellacked them 56-13. October came early. No more wins all year with a death march at the end losing to Rice and SMU before #1 Texas shellacked them 52-14. The annals do not mention it, but it's commonly believed that the Aggies proclaimed their narrower margin of defeat against Ohio State proved the Buckeyes were better than tu. Texas was awarded the pre-bowl national championship anyway.

image.png.a9615dfc29ea94f57de4c2cf255070df.png

11 Powerful examination that resonates and caltalyzes. We must never forget that touchdown against LSU in the magical tradition-breaking win on the football field!

Okay, I googled the guy:

The $25 price tag is probably because they know aTm alums will show up to boo the fuck out of this Hugh McElroy character.

Also, lol. I know one of the earlier criticisms I used to read from dipshit aggies online was that Texas was the REAL racist school, because we won the last "all-white" national championship in '63. Meanwhile aTm waited another 7 years to even start a fucking black player. Congrats, losers, on only being able to hide your systemic racist bullshit because your football teams sucked too bad for anyone to notice.

We were allegedly given the easiest schedule in the history of the world (even though previously it was apparently a meat grinder conference week in and week out and despite the fact that their schedule was just as easy, aside from the fact that we had to play them and they had to play us which mad theirs harder)

For aggy, "breaking tradition" might simply mean they won a game.

Or stopped cosplaying and lying about their fake military history from WWI & WWII, where they shout to the clouds that if they weren't personally on the front lines they would have 25 NC's. Never mind it didn't stop Army from winning NC's during that time. But who needs logic, amirite? They only won NC'S in 1914, 1916, 1944, 1945, and 1946. Let's not forget Navy winning their NC in 1926. Real military schools winning without an ounce of whining, all while two World Wars were ongoing. Imagine that.
