August 22Aug 22 Jesus, what fucking pathetic pussies. "Oh, we're going to get hammered with injuries!!" Yeah, no one else will have to contend with the same sad shit aggies will have to deal with...for fuck's sake.
August 22Aug 22 The 9 b1g games will be so much different than 9 sec games. Which are also very different from 8 sec games.

August 22Aug 22 Being named the #1 or #2 most over-rated team over the last 10 years is necessarily going to draw significant push-back and anger from them because it contradicts a central tenet of aggy belief. Aggy cult law #4: the world loves the 'sips and hates us because of the BOMC-- the 'sips are over-rated, and we are never given credit.
August 22Aug 22 The data on the Aggies is getting so voluminous that even those delusional dipshits are struggling to come up with “theories” to try and dispute their failures. It’s awesome.
August 22Aug 22 undefeated champions in games not played is not a new rationale but they are having to use it more and more as the rest of the sec and national media are circling for the kill shot
August 22Aug 22 That one guy says aggy was a "4th down completion away" from making the SEC championship game. Anyone know what that's referring to?

Maybe it came down to having a shit defense that didn't belong in a championship game with anybody. Here's what they gave up on all those other plays: Here's all the blown opportunities in overtime: One play? Really? There were likely dozens of opportunities where a clutch play might have mattered. Lack of those leads to a total defeat to a team with a losing record: I know. I know. It was a night game.

August 23Aug 23 A few things I've never understood about aggie and difference between our fan bases. Texas - yep we've had plenty of bad years, hired a buffoon of a coach in Herman (was totally against that hire). Strong actually did what he was brought in to do, hatchet man to get things in place for the next guy. He cleaned up the bad stuff pretty damn well. We owned all of that and the failures, etc. It was never a random play from greatness or some pipe dream. Aggie seems to fabricate reality for them. There's a post a few pages back about how great they're going to be this year. DID YOU WATCH THE SPRING GAME! Reed couldn't hit a barn until he had a fit and they put in scrubs for the defense against him in the 2nd half. Ohh, yep missed a few OL and it was mix and match - but they sucked against a very bad defense. 4th and 1 play, yea we got this for new aggy year, nope got stuffed Ethan Burke style for a loss as usual. What in the hell makes them think they are a playoff team or worthy of anything other than mockery amazes me. 8-4 will be a gift if they hit that. Will we struggle, yep and we'll own it. Not some random BS play or whatever like aggy fabricates. No clue how any of those people succeed at life. Own it, do better, fix the problem seems to work in business. No idea on selling insurance though.
August 23Aug 23 Popular Post I’m not completely sold on the idea that saying Strong did what we was brought here to do, or thinking he cleaned things up pretty well, is owning the cataclysmic shitstorm of his time in Austin. Edited August 23Aug 23 by Doc Daneeka

To your point: I believe it's based on the notion that they're all coming back and must improve. We've missed this Olin. Snappy wordplay Olin. Let's see what these Maroon Goons (fab nickname!) are thinkin'. The siren of less money at a similar school was just insufficient. Besides, Yes. Yes. Return to your traditional place in college football. Why do you do this to yourselves? The next physical annihilation will be familiar. Moving on: I see that TexAgs has adopted the same policy as their stadium wall regarding accuracy. All SEC DB 2024: Whither Lee III? Disrespect!: Seems Aggie feels entitled to praise beyond their achievements and are horribly offended when facts are stated. Collapsing rollercoasters are built on such foundations. August 23Aug 23 @RomaVicta , pure gold as always. You never disappoint. The aggy OL winning that award is pure delusion. I Agree Army and others. Strong was a huge disappointment in having the skills to manage a team like Texas to win. I do think the powers at the time were so focused on trying to rid the team of some severe cultural issues/players/etc. they totally missed this aspect or lack thereof in his ability. I think he did a good hatchet man job. Got rid of 20ish problem players? Did instill some good work ethic. Then we get pee test Tom. The real point I was poorly trying to make is Longhorns as a fanbase own our screw ups. There aren't excuses some one play away from greatness, whatever credo. We shit the bed on both for tbh some glaringly obvious reasons we should have identified in screening. Aggy is the exact opposite. Hell some of them still want Fisher back! CDC and team did the opposite. When interviewed about the Sark hire...he came in with a plan for everything he wanted to make happen. Coaches he could and wanted to hire, team mgmt, the offense and defense he wanted - on and on - even practice schedules. Sark actually blew their minds on how prepared he was for the job. I'm thrilled it worked and we are in a good place now. Also thrilled at how Sark has represented UT with class always. His interviews, soundbites are great. Glad we get to own this one and I think most Texas fans would say - Not sure if we will do it but we are in a good position to compete for a title this and probably next year, etc. Meanwhile, Aggy has yet to realize their 2nd string QB is better than Reed will ever be. It's like they haven't watched their own Spring game or well, the made up practice reports...

It's like they haven't watched their own Spring game or well, the made up practice reports... strong was a shitty coach. Bottom ten percent of the 120 or so coaches in college football. I think he had a sub 90 IQ or CTE. He also hired an awful staff. He sucked in all aspects and sucked so bad I pulled against Texas against Kansas because I wanted him gone. That loss meant we didn’t even have to hear any racial bullshit.

They do say that had they scored the touchdown that would have put them within one score and time to win as though that would be a foregone conclusion. Did they even try a pass at our goal line? My only real concern in that series was shutting out their offense altogether. Box checked. Edited August 24Aug 24 by RomaVicta

August 24Aug 24 So they were a hypothetical fourth down conversion away from not losing to a mediocre team and hence being allowed to play a second time against a team that, in the words of their coach, annihilated them. They must be so proud.
August 24Aug 24 Likely them dropping that ball in OT cost us a sec title. Or if Guilbeau pulls his head out of his ass and just gets in the way of the Georgia TE on the Barron pick. That would have been an iconic play in Texas history.
August 24Aug 24 My only worry about this game is Guilbeau playing corner. He's never had an INT, only 7 PBU, and that's about it, an they want to possibly one on one him with arguably the best WR in the country?
