Rending of coiffure! Let's see what Slim Pickens thinks:

And why is Olin referring to hair six times using six paragraphs of wit? He makes the case for Reed as the front runner for...well...you know. Let's check his reasoning:

The wins? You betchum.

The stats? The frontrunner (the guy in front!) is eighth. I'm sure Olin will show why that is enough.

The entire nation watching his Heisman moment?

That's a lot of people. But A&M played at night. Olin knows his shit. Let's check the colosal numbers when the entire nation watches. Cue night time ratings!

Uh, Olin?

I'm guessing they left off a couple of zeroes there, Olin?

And about that # 8 ranking for ND. I bet they didn't fall far after losing to those Fightin' Texas Aggies from Texas led by the Heisman front runner, huh?

image.thumb.png.1fa8f3d2d7c2bdce515719bac16f7c79.png

We won't even talk about that holding no-call during that Heisman Moment.

So, how does your man compare? Stats, wins, Heisman Moment. That total yardage ranking (8th) must be dominant!

Yep. No softies on that Aggie schedule. Juggernauts all the way down! That win against winless ND trumps everything else!

Let's knock down another contender, you sly boots, you!

Not nearly as impressive as beating the number 24 winless Fighting Irish who got out-fought by the Fightin' Texas Aggies. You're selling me on this front-runner shit, Olin!

1. For God's sake, you beat UTSA and Utah State. Cut this shit out.

2. Now #21 ranked Michigan which has two wins unlike winless, #24 ND.

Olin unintentionally describes the problem with Aggies.

But first, here's where you need to do some ironing! Or hire a better draper.

Yes, despite a world-shaking everybody-is-talking-about-us 3-0 start, despite that!, they don't want to believe they've arrived! Aggies everywhere choke on their Aggie cigars for a new reason, they stop getting the light just right on their limited edition plastic Ol' Sarge statuette while leaving space for the Notre Dame score limited edition plastic cup.

image.png.2cba0659c921a54d3307bd38877721a7.png

Finish? You mean wait for even more validation by the world that we're a magical place that all secretly wish they were part of?

This speaks more to what Elko knows he must remind Aggies rather than any possilbe dullness of his own mind:

image.png.52a7d48938d23597b5ff77ee31945c93.png

Most places do not need this reminder. Most places don't believe they have boarded an ever-ascending train only to be shocked it's actually a broken rollercoaster.

He also reveals just where A&M stands in the world of college football.

image.png.6f7880ee3e682885c11d0345634cbefc.png

Do actual "programs" see themelves in this way? This sounds like what Purdue or Syracuse might say after such a win. We're moving up as a program! Then they resume being where they belong until the next marquis win upset.

Actual programs are the ones programs like A&M excessively celebrate their occasional (inevitable) underdog victories against.

It's the overdog who is the program. The underdog is the wannabe.

Being an a&m beat writer has to be the most miserable job in existence. You get 4-5 weeks of sunshine, and then you are playing damage control for the rest of the year. Olin currently has his pasty white chest laid bare in the park trying to soak it all in.

Olin is a true believer, though.

Fuck. They're onto us. We're screwed.

Our diabolical plan likely would have succeeded if it weren't for those meddling Aggies!

It's cute how they think the outcomes would have been any different.

Neg me all you want, but I hope Arkansas beats ND this weekend because I'm hoping ND isn't ranked the rest of the season cheapening the aggy top 10 win, and we can resume talking about how they haven't had a major road win in however many years

I mean, who the fuck posting on this website except Helobious would be cheering for ND in this scenario? Arkansas is irrelevant. I want ND to lose 2-3 more games. Let them suck ass, and remove themselves from the playoff equation, giving us more wiggle room. Isn't this obvious to the point it doesn't need to be said?

I agree, I just figure some people really hate the idea of Arkansas winning some games but maybe they've been so pitiful so long it just doesn't matter

ND losing every game for all eternity would be nice.

Are they out of their fucking minds? The whole thing smells like, "We're kind of a big thing."

That's a good point. We've been talking so much about how no one should root for OU in any situation ever - which is undoubtedly the correct and noble position - that I forgot how much the Arkansas fanbase deserves to be miserable as well. But, as you pointed out, their program matters so little on the national stage that it's almost acceptable to want them to win. Especially when it frees up a CFP spot and diminishes the Aggie's "success"

I sympathize. But I do not condone.

Another insufferable Aggie promotional spot.

I'm sure this will net them the universal love and appreciation they so deserve. Understood at last.

Okay, Houston. What do I do now?

We turned the battery off in that tool, so just float out there.

Why, Houston?

The other astronauts just wanted to lock you out of the spacecraft for awhile so they can sleep without worrying about you accidentally turning off the oxygen, again.

What an obvious knock off of “what starts here changed the world.” Rent free, as always.

Ironic that NASA had to “repossess” the Space Shuttle simulator after they had donated it to A&M.
Seems the aggies had left it to rot in its crates for years without a plan to preserve or display it.

Probably saved a lot of lives by doing that. They can't even build a pile of logs with carnage.

For those unfamiliar with this sordid little episode here goes ... After the Space Shuttle was retired in 2011 Texas A&M bid for, and received the right to restore the shuttle simulator (a full cockpit and motion simulator) that had been used to train crews for more than three decades. A&M acquired the simulator and housed it in a decently sized building near campus. Then the university lost the lease to that building and the simulator was packed away into a much smaller space, where it gathered dust. There it remained for a decade. One of the final things George Abbey (a legendary operator at Johnson Space Center in Houston) did before he died was claw back the simulator and work with volunteers to refurbish the historical artifact and put it on public display at the Lone Star Flight Museum, in southeast Houston. He marshalled the funding and an army of volunteers to do what aggies do not: lie, cheat, steal, or preserve history.

Wasn't USC (just as big of a name as anyone on that guy's list) literally called just yesterday for having a lineman way down the field, erasing a touchdown? I'm pretty sure they were. That said, 2 out of 7 them displayed a reasonable, level-headed outlook on the call. That's a little more than 28%. So they did about 4 times as well I would have guessed.

edit: yes, they absolutely were - and it erased an amazing play by Lemon.
