You know, I don't really recall. Starts with an S! Let's see. Swim? Swammi? Slippy? Slappy? Swenson? Swanson?

Samsonite! I was way off! I knew it started with an S, though.

I was in Estes Park last week and had a drink at the Stanley Hotel Whiskey Bar where they filmed the “Avalanche Bar” Man Walks on the Moon scene. It was really disappointing that the framed newspaper on the wall (NYT) was not even the same newspaper that was used in the movie (Denver Post).

Maybe it was posted elsewhere around here, but two guys recreated the bike ride to Aspen:

In the end, we logged 382 miles and burned seven gallons of gas; plus two and a half rear tires. In the major motion picture, Lloyd traded Harry’s van for the hog (straight up) and claimed to be able to get 70 mpg with the mini bike. We averaged 54, with what was likely a larger engine and some poor tuning to start. Our most efficient tank was 62 mpg, so if you figure the “kid back in town” had his jetting sorted for 5,000 feet of elevation, 70 mpg seems reasonable.

Extra gloves?  You've had this pair of extra gloves the whole time?

Well yeah... we're in the Rockies.

My hands are starting to get sweaty.

What happened, Harry?  Some little filly break your heart?

No, it was a girl.

She gave me a bunch of crap about me not listening to her enough or something. I don't know. I wasn't really paying attention

The first time I set eyes on Mary Swanson, I just got that old fashioned romantic feeling. Where I’d do anything to bone her.

I fell off the jetway again.

Why would she have you meet her in a bar at 10 in the morning?

I just figured she was a raging alcoholic.

That's as good as money sir....those are IOUs

i remember being baffled by that as a kid.  Why is that a joke?  They *are* as good as cash, aren't they?

"I don't want to bother you with my problems..."

"Thanks."

All we gotta do is show a little class, a little sophistication, and we're in like a dirty shirt.

CSB/ one of the science teachers at my middle school knew Jeff Daniels at CMU and he came and spoke to a group of us while he was in Houston filming Terms of Endearment. He was a really cool guy/ CSB

Just get the bare essentials.  That's the last of our dough.

Of course with the ending.

Welp, see ya later!

Pull Over!

No, it's a cardigan, but thanks for noticing.

Maybe we trash the place, send ‘em a little message.

I don’t think he’s gonna get that message, Joe. I mean, the guy’s got worms living in his living room.
