Upgrading my wife’s engagement ring for our 10 year wedding anniversary. What’s a good price to pay for a loose diamond? Looking for 2 carat loose diamond. Pear shaped. I know how to find a quality one but how do I figure out how much is a fair price?

I used the guy from OB when I got my wife's wedding ring.  Lake Maguire, I think.

I don't know if he's still around but he was awesome to work with.  I knew jack shit about diamonds.  Know I know slightly more than jack shit.  Might want to try him.

Blue nile is a decent place to get a handle on prices for loose stones.

Done bluenile couple times, pleased both times.  Synthetic diamonds have come long way and when redid wifes ring she specifically wanted "non-mined" diamond.  Didn't realize it was becoming a trend, but I guess there has been a big movement away from mined diamonds because of the abuses.  Worked for me as they are way cheaper and just as nice IMO.

Pawn shop.  Seriously.  They have loose stones; prob not on display, and best to go in when they aren't busy.
