October 9, 20214 yr Well I can tell you where not to watch the game…. Asked a guy I know that lives here and is a longhorn fan where to go, he said Brewster street. I’ve been here fifteen minutes and not a single employee has talked to me and I’m the only one here….

July 21, 20223 yr Beer question: Who has the coldest drafts? Who has best selection? and who has the best A/C?

July 22, 20223 yr Rebel Toad is good. There is also Nueces Brewing. Food in addition to beer. Lorelei is a small place with not much indoor seating so you may have to sit outside if it is crowded. But I like their brews. I personally think Lazy Beach is not worth the trip but if for some reason you are on the south side, well, it is there. They have hard kombucha if that is your thing.

August 23, 20223 yr https://www.boarrireserve.com For the Corpus folks a new meat market opened up close to downtown a few months ago. Boarri Craft Meats, lots of waygu options, sausages I’ve tried have been great, Suya skewers, summer sausage, ect. Their pre brinded inch thick pork chops are some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s worth checking out. The website kinda sucks though, they have more info on Instagram.

A guy I work with has been touting them so I did an online order a few weeks ago because he was going by to pick up some stuff and said he'd grab mine. Turns out I was the very first online order because he'd just set up the website. I had to run to downtown to get a car title last week so I stopped by and grabbed some stuff. Owner's a cool dude. I'm getting a free shirt because of the online thing. Food I've eaten so far has been great - I got the bavette and made fajitas and they were awesome..

New Mexican restaurant called Frida’s opened and if you want seafood Waterstreet. Or Brewster’s is right across from the stadium and the food isn’t bad actually. Edited June 22, 20241 yr by Hook1997

Oysters and seafood those are easily the top two choices This place has odd hours, I’ve been once and it was probably the best bbq in cc. But that was years ago and weird hours https://maps.app.goo.gl/9QakCxifwExHae1b6?g_st=com.google.maps.preview.copy Hoegemeyer's Barbeque Barn also, a Whataburger at Whataburger field is a must
June 22, 20241 yr Second railroad if you want close to the stadium. Also Portis Country kitchen depending on the gametime and if you can find the place.

September 3Sep 3 Returning to my hometown for the first time in a decade. Two nights at the Omni. Just gonna explore, goof off, and catch a Sunday night show at House Of Rock. Anything interesting downtown that I should know about?

From what I can tell, Water Street Seafood Restaurant is no longer there, but the Oyster Bar is? Along with Executive Surf Club? I'll probably pop into both while I'm wandering around. Best restaurants downtown used to be Vietnam or Republic Of Texas. Anyone know of any other decent places for a "treat myself" type dinner?

Yeah, it's the oyster bar, but it's the full Water Street deal. I recall Vietnam being good, but been a long time since I've been. Surf club is still around.
