May 10, 20187 yr I've always been a fan...Any of y'all experts? Anything from mariachi to Tijuana techno. I'll start with something I just fell into:

May 10, 20187 yr Belanova was a bartender in Guadalajara about the time I rolled through. Didn't meet her.
May 10, 20187 yr Author My grandmother was born a Beaumont WASP but she became a Catholic at about 12, and years later took us all to a Mexican church in Houston where they have a mariachi Mass. It feels like you are getting married and in a Spaghetti western.
May 10, 20187 yr From "Chanoc contra el Tigre y el Vampiro", Tintan sings the glory of bootleg rum. With a chimp.

May 10, 20187 yr This is one where when it comes on the big screen in the bar, everybody stops what they are doing and sings along.
May 10, 20187 yr One of our Chihuahuas started getting feisty while I played that. In her blood, like an Italian hearing the theme to Rocky.
May 11, 20187 yr Lots of rich families in Monterrey send their kids to the US. People think it's because of cartels. It's really so they won't stay home and hang out with Plastilina Mosh. Edited May 11, 20187 yr by RDCanecutter

I was once taken on a police tour of the meth ghettos of Lufkin and Angelina County. The cracka ass crackas had pit bulls running around their trailer park. Shit you not, the blue ice Mezcins had semi-feral chihuahuas running around.

I keep switching my ranking of the two chiquitas, and I don't think marrying them both, Moorish Spain style, would work out very well. For me. It seems like a good plan on paper but in reality I would be chum in a shark tank. I guess there are worse ways to go. Edited May 11, 20187 yr by MaybeACoordinator

Best barky alarm around, smaller target for the cops to shoot.
May 11, 20187 yr I loved this song on the Kiko album: And, as a gringo, also liked the longer version on the Los Super Seven album with Rick Trevino and Doug:

The shorter thinner one has the looks, but the other one has "the look". Ay yay yay. Me too gringo.

May 11, 20187 yr when i lived in san antonio i went to the conjunto fest about 6 yrs in a row. discovered it late but once i did i never missed it. it was the most fun of any festival in town. so cool to see the dancers, and the music is happy music. upbeat. i own at least 4 cd's from the merch booth there.

If it weren't for Skarnales there would be no Suffers, and the Suffers are the one band to make it out of Houston to some degree in the last five or ten years. He is a true king of the scene and a dignified mess.
May 11, 20187 yr Author Love Lila. I talked to for a while some years back. She is half India and half American professor...She spent half her time as a DeadHead and the other half as a Mixtec. She is a fucking star.
