The fucking cat keeps bringing in chipmunks in the house, gets bored of playing with them, and then leaves. We have to basically tear the den apart to get these impressively stupid rodents to leave. I seriously doubt she'll kill it while we're out, so what bait should I use? I'm reading peanut butter and sunflower seeds but wondering if any of you have had to trap these fuckers inside the house before. I'm guessing any squrrel-like trap will do?

You're gonna have to dress up like a lady chipmunk and seduce them.

I might need to get Merlin's help then,

Have you tried just calling them?

Some of them are kinda dumb and won't respond initially. Try a louder yell and draw it out quite a bit.

I've used the peanut butter trick before but never on a chipmunk. Kinky.

sounds like the chipmunks aren't the problem.

Get rid of the cat.

The cat and the chipmunks are doing what they are supposed to do. It's the people who gotta go.

Stop letting the cat out.  Or in. Either way.

Who is letting the cat in while carrying a chipmunk?

They probably have a raccoon door that the cat is using. Next thing you know, they'll complain about a raccoon using the raccoon door.

We leave the porch door cracked since she'll freak out if it's closed (whether she wants in or out). She's not going outside for a while though.

Sad that I can't at least get a trap recommendation.

How injured are they?  Small havahart with peanut butter is kind of the standby for squirrels.

And then call Eddie.  He usually eats the goddamned things.

oh, not recently, clark.  he read that squirrels were high in cholesterol.

Who was the guy who was going to burn his fence down electrocuting rats but then stopped updating the thread? You could try something like that, but where you continue to document your progress here.
