March 25, 20187 yr Author Kind of digging this 103 released by Sinn at Basel. Actually may be too blue.
March 26, 20187 yr Just inherited my great-great grandfather's 1894 or 1895 Waltham pocket watch. Hunter design. Took it to the jeweler to see what he needed to do to fix it. Jeweler wound it, sucker cranked right up. I've been carrying it around using it to tell time. Edited March 26, 20187 yr by RDCanecutter
March 26, 20187 yr I have nostalgia for the old watch fanatic thread. There are a couple of watches that I got thanks to that thread.

March 26, 20187 yr The one I have a picture of: 1958 Omega Seamaster And this is a 60s (I think) Omega Constellation Have some more I'll try to post later. My dad left me a bunch of watches. So I have a pretty good collection of the old stuff.

March 26, 20187 yr The new Rolex GMT-Master II Pepsi In Stainless Steel has caught my eye. It's the watch I've always wanted....

March 26, 20187 yr Not a fan. The ceramic fucks the colors all up and it has the shitty new fat lugs.
March 26, 20187 yr Yah i dont love the ceramic, and no one normal is getting that watch for at least 18 months. Hell the tudor pepsi has a 12 month wait i was told at the AD. Going to another AD today or tomorrow to verify.
March 26, 20187 yr Well, the last thread I saw on the Shag was the watch thread, and it had gone to shit, literally. So.....yeah.
March 26, 20187 yr The GMT Mii just looks weird with the jubilee band. I love my older pepsi, but the bezel is fading a LOT.

I'm kind of guessing on the age of mine. My dad was born in 1910. So it's entirely possible that mine is a 50s model, too. He was hard on bands. So a lot of his watches had replacement Spiedel stretchy bands on them.

March 27, 20187 yr I'm looking to sell off maybe 5-6 watches. Where do yall tend to go to do that and where would you recommend looking to get pricing? Watchuseek? Nothing special (Mido, G. Gerlach, Steinhart, an old Tag, things like that), just some stuff that I don't wear anymore and would prefer to eventually roll into something else.

March 27, 20187 yr watchrecon is a good way to search through a lot of different websites. Just search for your watch on it and see what prices are listed. Keep in mind those likely aren't what the final sales price is/was.
March 27, 20187 yr Okay cool. Thanks guys. I'll probably post them here too once I get some pricing info on them.

Official shaggy watch sales thread?
March 28, 20187 yr Got a few pictures of the rest of them. Like a said before, most of these were my dad's, and he wore them until the were well worn. Better picture of the Omega Constellation from above. Omega dress watch from the late 60s. Pretty old Movado Automatic 1978 Rolex Date 1983? Audemars Piguet And a good old Seiko (2002) in the corner.
March 28, 20187 yr Wondering if I can convince my wife that I need this and that I can always resell it without too much loss in value in a few years.
March 28, 20187 yr 2 minutes ago, huge said: The sales part is true. Less depreciation than an Accord at same price? Accords cost $40k these days? Damn.
March 29, 20187 yr PP is crazy these days and don't lose much value. Even if it loses 25% over 3 years that's still 30k which is a cost of $3,300/year. $275/month. And there's the chance it goes up in value or doesn't lose value.

March 29, 20187 yr I've had these awhile, but don't think I ever posted on the old website. And the second one: I emailed Sinn customer service about them after I picked them up. Watches are from 1980 with no spare parts or other information available. Watches were produced as part of a "small edition" and have a handwinding Lemania 6100 movement.

That or is everyone cool with just posting them in this thread? Might keep it interesting. Also, anyone ever owned an omega dynamic chrono?
March 29, 20187 yr Took that Seiko in for one of its unlimited battery changes I signed up for for $35 over fifteen years ago. Place was having a sale. So I bought my soon to be 13 year old a nice stainless Seiko for his birthday (in August). Longer story is that the store had bought out some stock from another store, marked down a nice stainless Seiko, then discounted it 50%. Got it for $54, and it's a good looking watch. Pretty happy with myself. Anyone with old Omegas get them serviced. What did that run you. My Seamaster is running fast and my Constellation is likewise overdue. Trust my local place, but don't want to get overcharged when they give me an estimate next month.
