August 5Aug 5 Haven't bought a new dress watch since buying my current TAG 7 years ago, but I've had my eyes on a Pepsi Tudor for a while and planning to finally pull the trigger later this year. I'd obviously rather have a Pepsi Rolex, but I've yet to achieve Surly 1% status. Nice choice. The opaline dial is stunning, too

Gives them a warmer, more vintage look. You can find nice pre-owned examples of these now well below $3k. Edited August 6Aug 6 by cabowabo

You’d be hard pressed to find better value in that price range these days.
August 6Aug 6 The recent chatter made me go look at watchuseek and I'm a little surprised what you can get a pre owned Pepsi Tudor for right now. The Black Bay Pro is scratching me where I itch too.
August 6Aug 6 Vintage Tudor Submariners are tops for me. You can pick up a 90s 36mm 75190 for a nice price. Step back into the 80s, and price goes up steeply, but I may like ‘em more than vintage Rolex Subs75190:9401:

Any thoughts or experiences with Seaholm? I designed the internal shock mount for Seaholm. Haven't done anything with them since, but yes, the founder is a good guy.

August 15Aug 15 IMO it’s tough to justify a Seaholm with a Sellita 200-1 movement for $2K when you can get a Christopher Ward with the same movement for half that. And in the case of their field watches get a certified chronometer movement.

Tariffs bring what is a great value and well priced watch into a territory it can't compete in.

I see the bezel yes, but the face looks black. Maybe the lighting?
August 18Aug 18 I’m getting a Hulk next. Been waiting until my youngest leaves for college next Fall.

The face is black, but this is the "new" root beer Rolex for the last 5 years or so. Great watch but since I have had it for a few years now I am getting the itch for something new.

Just bezel.
August 18Aug 18 And for the record, damn nice watch. Just wasn’t aware they made the change. Rootbeer new or old is still beautiful.

August 26Aug 26 Dropped off my Seamaster at the Omega Boutique for service. Found out that Omega plans a second price increase this year in October. They raised prices 6% in May. They were unsure on the amount, but guessing at least another 6%. Ouch. I did the only responsible thing, and called my usual dealer to order a Speedy moonwatch. In the meantime, this is on my wrist.

August 28Aug 28 Anyone recommend any third party strap makers for Tudor. Looking for a new band. Preferably silicone. Related question….i want to be able to change out the bracelet for a strap every so often. Is there a good pin puller out there that will cause no damage and makes it easy to remove the pins? The booklet that came with my Pelagos said that strap replacements should only be done by an authorized dealer. I do not want to have to go to the dealer every time I want my strap changed. Easier to just find the right tool and do it myself. Any suggestions?

August 28Aug 28 First time you try it - put some tape on the surrounding area. Not difficult but you don't want a "learning" scratch. Really liked my classic sub with the holes for the pins versus non hole models
