Not in the loop since I moved away.  We used to get cakes from Anne's Kitchen but she has retired.  What recommendations do you have?

If it's somebody you need to impress...Swedish Hill Bakery on West Sixth or Paper Route Bakery on Chavez.  If it's a regular human or child, just go with HEB.

Another vote for Upper Crust.  Sweetish Hill would be my second choice.  Too bad Lucy's hasn't been around for a while.

Sideserf Cake Studio. It’s run by celebrity baker Natalie Sideserf who has been on numerous baking competition shows. Her cakes are ridiculously expensive, but they are also custom made and very delicious. She can basically make whatever you want. 

She has a YouTube channel so you can check out some of her work there.

Milano on SW Parkway has a very good one. All their desserts are really tasty.
