Oh shit, the mysterious circus attraction has leaked onto the web. Not sure if you want to be spoilered, but here it is:

GDT is definitely pushing the stylizing at least up to the line where I lose interest. The fabulous cast, actors sticking together for actors, could raise it a level. The trailer is something of a disaster in that it doesn't give enough clues about what the fuck this is all about.

I'm a maybe depending on reviews from critics and this thread. You guys have steered me to some pretty great stuff:

  • Derry Girls
  • Fleabag
  • The Wire
  • Deadwood

To name just a few things I would never have given a chance otherwise. It makes me sad to see so many threads dedicated to comic book heroes and other super natural stuff of which only the very best interest me.

Was here to post that the trailer did nothing for me but the cast had my interest.

I’m in. You fuckers either complain a trailer gives away too much or not enough.

I don't what is really going on but I will check it out

I have seen the original and this actually looks much better and Willem Dafoe appears to be some perfect casting.

Saw this today. Some really good acting but too long and I lost interest at times.

just saw it.  thought it was good, but agree that it may have been a bit too long (and i never complain about that shit like so many people do).

Spoiler

wish they had done a little bit more to explain cate blanchet's motivation

Cron has finally died down enough that I saw this today.  I thought it was good but I like most con movies.  Cooper and Mara really stood out.  I'd like to see the original now.

On HBO Max now.

Yep, probably watching tonight.

Watched it last night.  I liked it a lot more than the rest of my family.

Watched it last week and didn’t really care for it. Too long and the payoff was a fairly predictable twist.

Why is it that I want to plow my hog into Cate Blanchet no matter how creepy her role looks?

Whole lotta meh.

Don’t have the old dude mention something about “when you really the power” and not pay it off with Stan actually being a real medium. This felt like a first draft that needed some tighter editing in the first hour along with fleshing out character motivations.

Agree - BORING and predictable.

Watched it last night on HBO.  I thought is was good.  Very well acted and definitely could have trimmed it up a bit.  I'd recommend.

Spoiler

Don't really understand Blanchet's motivation to fuck with Cooper.  I guess she was just so pissed that he embarrassed her at the first showing that she had to show him that she can run circles around him?

I mostly liked it (although it was too long and I definitely liked the first hour or so more than the rest, but yeah, I didn't understand that at all either.

Thought it was a well executed homage to the original which was creepy af.
