Look at Roy throwing some blocks

It's annoying how much VY split time with Chance fuckin Mock that year and even into '04.  It was obvious right away Vince was special.  And save me the Tech comeback...if left in, VY would have won that game too.

I don't fault Vince for doing it... Quite the opposite honestly but it seems like stolen valor for the SEC to do it. I don't remember the B12 claiming Earl Campbell.

Fuck Jeff Fisher

Vince came and played flag football with a dozen neighborhood kids last weekend as part of a charity auction. He was great. Still carrying around that VY energy on the field.

This is the run that came by our front row seats and left me and a friend looking at each other in open mouthed amazement.  Never will forget it.

the greatest all time Rose Bowl QB ever !!!!!

He doesn’t look fast until you consider the defenders chasing him drop off the field of vision of the TV screen.

the game of games

19 years ago... a guy named vince personally beat the greatest armies in the world along with the Jedi Council on his way to staking his claim as the greatest college football player ever....

and finished it off with a 2 point dive up the middle of the line to give a USC cheerleader so much excitement she became a meme for a decade

one for the ages .....

0:26 is such an underrated moment. I've probably posted this before but it's worth mentioning again. Very rarely in life do you achieve something incredible that will talked about generation after generation and know it in the moment. That slow walk back to the sideline as he carries the burden of every Texas fan for the last 30 years. Heavy lies the crown sort of thing. Truly incredible.

As someone posted in the RB Thread... VY Field.

the all time greatest Rose Bowl qb

This 4th and 18 run against Kansas to save the game was the first time a lot of people noticed VY. We lose this game and no Rose Bowl against Michigan that year.

Ok. Google yourself. I just watched a doc on McNair. Then I googled if VY had a documentary and saw their was supposedly one from 9 days ago. Not sure if it's true. I find nothing else on it. So in a sense, I agree with you that the link is bullshit.

Man, I gotta watch those clips now and then to remind myself how good he was.   Can’t think of a player since who is in the same hemisphere of being able to do what he could do.  VY for life.

I only saw VY play in person two times because I wasn’t living in Texas at the time.

Game 1:

January 1st, 2005 vs Michigan

Game 2:

January 4th, 2006 vs USC

I was living in LA at the time. I picked a good couple of games.

I got to see him demolish Baylor in Waco that year. When Ramonce flipped into the endzone the lady behind said something like "act like you've been there", fuck you lady. Also, almost fought a group of Baylor frat boys with my brother and dad, was a college freshman at the time. They saw my dad and walked off. Good times.

Also: one the only times I've seen my old man cry was after 4th and 5. I love this fucking game.

Yup, I felt obligated to go to the rose bowl in 2006 since I was living out there. Was even better sitting with my USC coworkers at the game 🤣
