September 24, 20214 yr Meeting a client/referral partner and two work colleagues for lunch near our Plano office on Monday. The office is at Tennyson Parkway and Parkwood. Is that right by the Legacy deal? Any recommendations for in that general area?

Is that right by the Legacy deal? Any recommendations for in that general area? We've spent a fair amount of time up there the last few months when we've gone up to the boat, so have had a chance to try out a few places. Anything in "the Legacy deal" (assuming you're talking about the shops at legacy) are pretty good. It has all levels really, depending on what you're looking for. We much prefer Legacy West over the original part on the East side of the tollway. The East side just felt a little tired and dated on the whole comparatively. Had lunch at Earls last time we went and it was pretty solid. Wide variety on the menu with pretty much something for everyone, so you don't paint yourself into a corner with a specific cuisine that someone might not like. It felt like a good mix of one part casual and one part upscale, and it's the only one in Dallas so you won't feel like you're at a chain (even though it is a chain). Patio should be lovely this time of year if that's what you want. You can go more upscale if you're trying to wine and dine them or less upscale if you want to keep it casual. That said, honestly, you should probably ask your Plano office colleagues as they should have a much better handle on it than some random dude from the internet who's only gone up there a few times in the last 10 years. Good luck.
September 24, 20214 yr Author I’ll check into Earl’s. The two Plano folks on our end don’t know and probably don’t really care. My client/referral partner lives in Lakewood and is like us food-wise — in fact, we randomly met at Bolsa many, many years ago when he was still a director at Tolleson.

That Legacy West thing is kind of an outpost for a lot of the same places that started down here...Taverna, Toulouse, Mesero, etc.

October 6, 20214 yr Haywire is solid. I liked our one visit there. There's a new Haywire location in Uptown. I thought they were gonna open one in Lakewood but that may have been scuttled by the pandemic.
