This gives  the Metroplex/North Texas  area an FCS school for football which has been void since UTA shut their program down.

This is now two aggy schools who made the move to FCS with Tarleton State being the first .    My bet aggy Canyon (WTAM) will be next  followed by Angelo St(part of the Tech system)  and the Lone Star Conference will die as a football conference and a great football small football conference it was back in the day... aggy King Ranch will probably continue to whither on the vine as a football program. UTPB will need to find a new home just as they were starting to build momentum in D2....    There is some chatter UT-Tyler might interested in football as well, but no time frame set.   UTRGV has set a student referendum for the go ahead for funding via student fees for football.    They will be going straight to the WAC for football and not spend anytime in another subdivision.

As of this year, so is Midwestern.

Yeah MWSU joined the Tech system on September 1st of this year.  MWSU can't go D1 though due to facilities.  Still using the Wichita Falls ISD stadium for football.  There is rumor of plans for an "on campus" stadium but there's always rumor of stuff with the athletic department that never comes to fruition.

Probably because the rumor gets murdered by the reality that there’s nowhere to put a campus stadium.

The only place that’s even remotely plausible is that area by Sikes Lake and Midwestern Parkway, but that would involve a crucial step known locally as “demolish the University President’s House.”

The newest rumor is MWSU buying the current Sikes Center Mall location, bulldozing it and then building the stadium there.

Why not? It's not like there's anything there other than a dying theater, Books a million, On the Boarder, and that pizza place, anyway.

Yeah it’s not exactly a thriving place. I just didn’t think they’d ever do that.

I don't think they will, tbh. Does MSU even draw a good crowd for games, anyway?

Only the playoff games really

A pretty decent crowd when winning.  Again that is the rumor which means it likely never happens.  It would be awesome though.  The mall just lost their most successful store, Old Navy, to another place it town.  That pizza place is Bricktown Brewery and is great plus has more than just pizza.

Where did Old Navy move to? I would think by TJ Maxx, Kohls, or around that area? Bricktown has an amazing pepperoni pizza I had, and their ranch was fuggin awesome.

Same shopping center as Academy but they haven't actually moved yet, just announced it.

Man, it's strange conversing with anyone who's on here that actually lives or lived there. It's pretty neat, not gonna lie. Like it's this small city/big town that most people who Live south of Dallas MAY have heard of us, and then of course you have Lawton and OKC who know of us. It's just funny.
