April 3Apr 3 If Trev doesn't want to listen to Texags for potential coaching candidates, he could always just ask the players who they want.

Schloss proved it is possible to for them to have a legitimate shot. Now if you want to argue that the ultimate losing effort was because aggy, and that he ran away in the middle of a championship level run cuz aggy, you have a pretty good argument.

If he wants a top 10 job, the faster path is staying right where he is for another season. Agreed with this take. He knows best case scenario it will take him 2 years to get A&M where he has Ole Miss right now. Leverage A&M for more money with a stable situation for less downside risk and quicker upside to a top caliber job. The only way A&M made sense for Beard is if he wanted to move back to Texas with goal of settling long term.

We may have reached out to a few big names to no avail, but we didn’t get publicly turned down by anyone or had it leak that we offered $2m over current salary and still got turned down. What a clown show. Thank god for CDC. Texas coaching searches have never been as bad as the crybabies on Longhorn boards act like they are. And now under CDC they're as well-run as they could possibly be. Even the bad ones were only bad if you didn't compare them to literally every other school's coaching searches.

April 3Apr 3 One of the many fun things about Alberts running face first into the brick wall of reality at A&M is that he hates Texas so much you just know he believed every BS thing he was told when considering taking the job there. The idea of the Texas version of reality being the accurate one between ours and Texags's version may actually never even occur to him. Which will only compound his frustration. popcorn.gif

April 3Apr 3 Porter Moser would be a bad hire for UT. First, he isn't a terrible coach. He is good enough to get aggy to the tourney most years. Not great, but not terrible. But more importantly, it gives OU the chance to go get an actual great coach, which they might very well do.

April 3Apr 3 Whoever it is they’re going to have to overpay because of the amount they reportedly offered Beard.

April 4Apr 4 lol…catching up for the day Mack’s plane was “in route” then it had a pit stop for gas and continued on to Vegas. Now the betting favorite is Porter Moser.

April 4Apr 4 20 hours ago, Pancho said: Ehh, I think the Turgeon, Billy Clyde, and Kennedy showed what could be done at A&M with the right coach. Mississippi is just a way, way worse job; however, what Mississippi has going for them right now that A&M doesn’t is structure within their leadership and athletic department. I’m also pretty sure Mississippi doesn’t let their fan message board members run the athletic department or have a say so in it either like TexAgs/A&M. But just like A&M, Mississippi just needs the right coach to create history. If A&M had the right AD who also told TexAgs to fuck off and got their donors all in alignment, it would be a great job considering its recruiting location. But none of that will ever happen because A&M is full of dumbfucks who only care about one-upping Texas and being thought of as being on the same level as Texas. That is really that school’s most major problem. Beard is also wise to not have taken it when a much better job than either MIssissippi or A&M will open up soon. Ole Miss also finally has a beautiful newish basketball arena after playing in a dump for most of their history, so they fixed the facilities issue.

April 4Apr 4 Looch selling Samford and HighPoint coaches as next Aggie coach … says the only thing preventing beard from signing contract was the fact he’d have to fill out a bare roster (as if beard hasn’t done that at Texas and Mississippi).

He always said that he didn't intend to coach past his early Sixties, wanted to retire to a beach somewhere. As far as I know, he took his millions to leave and did just that.
