Biden said last night he thinks he can get $1.9-$2.2T out of Manchin and Sinema.  House progressives said they can live with that.

Manchin did not rule out that same range.  He's at $1.5T-ish still but said he wouldn't rule out $1.9-2.2T.

Biden needs to threaten to drone strike Sinema's favorite wine bar or something.

It's weird how this is the new normal of corruption. The next step is actual pictures of money hitting their banks accounts.

Supreme Court - in gutting corruption cases - left one provision: quid pro quo bribery remains punishable under the Federal Bribery Act.

Go after those who gave her the money for her obstruction on this bill, AG Garland.

This is at least as much about the other people you live in society with as it is about the senator. I know it’s a radical thought but people should be able to use the shitter without a bunch of filming and shouting about politics. Just because Sinema won’t hold a town hall doesn’t mean I have to attend one involuntarily while trying to drop a deuce.

It’s one thing if she’s voting on deportation of Jews to the east or something, but these are freaking spending and infrastructure bills. The nonstop outrage and moral panic that justifies anything has to get turned off, this is the exact mentality of the Fox News junkie. Part of the genius of free, democratic societies is the option and ability to cordon off spaces where political debate doesn’t intrude. The mentality that leads one into a public bathroom to scream about spending bills is totalitarian in the literal sense.

I don't agree.

If someone holds one of the most important jobs in world politics they have chosen to serve.  If they won't serve they will be held accountable.  That process won't be pretty.  It should stay legal, but FAFO.

Infrastructure Week?

This looks like nothing is going to pass.  Completely amazing failure.

Progressives folded.

When progressives said they would vote no without a vote on BBB at  about the time I posted it was enough times for me to think the whole thing wasn’t going to actually happen.

If you read back I said they would pass both bills, but after several “deadline” failures it seemed kind of likely.

you’re welcome Joe

Passage of the the companion piece will prove much more problematic.

Terry McAuliffe was a terrible centrist candidate. Progressives told you up front.

Hopefully that is the last of the FOB's and their Third Way centrism. It doesn't work.

2 Ds and 4 Rs from NY didn't vote with their caucus

Edited by WBT

Disappointed in AOC’s no vote, nothing wrong with saying I don’t completely agree with bill and wanted more in it but this is a win for America and will continue to fight for my beliefs.  Same goes for Bowman.

That is shocking.  But then again, maybe not.  New York City will get chunks of change, and she might see that given the pro-owed redistributing, if she wants to keep her job, she might want to be more moderate and less Trumpy.

Virginia scared the hell outta them.

Why? It wasn’t like it was a blowout on the scale of the California recall vote.

I am still loling at the GQP shitting on the 13 that voted for this.  Chip Roy is my favorite who is calling this a massive socialist spending bill.  Spending on infrastructure was one of the types of spending I always thought would be supported on a lot of different fronts.  It is something that helps all and is the type of investments governments should be making.  It is like Chip Roy and the entire Texas GQP is ok with a repeat of Feb 2021.  Fucking idiots the lot of them.

Also, watching the GQP eat their own…

I’ve never understood why political parties don’t run commercials about this. Positive political ads that inform about policy and not candidates would go a long way with swing voters. Keep them positive, simple, short and to the point. Katie Porter could consult on how to get a point across.

Okay, with the House’s passage of BBB, we’re rounding 3rd, headed home. Voting bill is on deck.

Pramila Jayapal says the BBB bill has been pre conferenced and will pass the Senate in a semi altered form.

How the hell is it passing the Senate?
