this video is about as rage-inducing as they come. guy tries to kill himself in the back of a squad car, so the cop pulls over and beats the shit around him, slams the door on his head, and leaves him there to die, before eventually resuscitating him by repeatedly jabbing the man in the chest with his baton:

the video of the cop is infuriating enough, but then you follow it up with people who normally worship the police being “shocked” that this everyday occurrence happened and you just throw roll your eyes, throw your hands, and wonder what world they’ve been living in.

She was held on $125,000 bond and had to spend 5 nights in jail before the charges were dropped. That’s criminal in itself.

Judge Kenneth King even asked other kids in the courtroom Tuesday whether the 16-year-old girl should be taken to juvenile detention, WXYZ-TV reported.

King, who works at 36th District Court, defended his actions.

“I wanted this to look and feel very real to her, even though there’s probably no real chance of me putting her in jail. That was my own version of ‘Scared Straight,’” King said, referring to a documentary about teen offenders in New Jersey.

The teen was seeing King's court as part of a visit organized by The Greening of Detroit, a nonprofit environmental group. During the visit, King noticed the girl falling asleep, WXYZ reported.

“You fall asleep in my courtroom one more time, I’m gonna put you in back, understood?” the judge said, according to video of his remarks.

King then had the girl change into jail clothes and wear handcuffs.

"It was her whole attitude and her whole disposition that disturbed me,” the judge told WXYZ. “I wanted to get through to her, show how serious this is and how you are to conduct yourself inside of a courtroom.”

King also threatened her with time in juvenile detention before releasing her.

“I’ll do whatever needs to be done to reach these kids and make sure that they don’t end up in front of me,” the judge said.

The Greening of Detroit released a statement, saying the “young lady was traumatized.”

“Although the judge was trying to teach a lesson of respect, his methods were unacceptable,” chairperson Marissa Ebersole Wood said. “The group of students should have been simply asked to leave the courtroom if he thought they were disrespectful.”

Judge Aliyah Sabree, who has the No. 2 leadership post at the court, released a statement Wednesday night, saying King's conduct “does not reflect the standards we uphold at 36th District Court.”

“I am committed to addressing this matter with the utmost diligence,” Sabree said.

There was no immediate response to a message seeking comment Wednesday from King. The court’s chief judge, William McConico, was away and unavailable for comment, his office said.

“There were so many other ways in which to have helped that young girl learn,” said Larry Dubin, a professor at the University of Detroit Mercy law school.

King told WXYZ that he spoke to the girl's parents and offered to be a mentor.

I'm honestly not sure this is a bad thing, might make them more willing to deescalate than "shoot".

You be the judge.

Fucking Police

This is more of a speed trap PSA than a "fuck the police" post. I take it back, speed traps do justify saying "fuck the police."

36th District Court Judge William McConico removed King from his docket late last week, saying King would not return until after undergoing training. King will still receive pay during his time away from the bench.

So he needs training to not be a power tripping dickhead?  Why is he still getting paid?

I'm not sure there were enough officers present to take him down safely.

Sure, they got away with it this time, but four cars and about 20 cops to arrest one Beach Bro is taking your life into your own hands. Probably should've brought in some K9s and SWAT. They were lucky to make it home to their families that night.

This definitely requires taking a deep breath before reading. He groomed her as a 12-year old in a youth program, began having sex with her when she was 15, got her pregnant when she was 20, someone then called the PD to report his sexual involvement with her, another cop tipped him off, he then murdered the pregnant woman and staged it as a suicide. 2 other cops and his brother also had sex with her when she was a teen. The PD then covered up the murder and his involvement with the girl for 4 years until the FBI investigated.

Any LEO or family of on here? I used to believe the 80-10-10 adage. Supposedly 80 percent of LEOs were good, 10 percent were bent, and 10 percent were indifferent to the bad acts of their colleagues. It seems closer to 50/50, or less, now.

Your math is off.  100% of them are bad.  There are only two types of cops: 1) those who will do all manner of bad shit, and 2) those who will cover for and protect group 1).

That's it.  Stop overthinking it.  Cops are a criminal enterprise.

If true, then why do we never hear of the 80% turning in or reporting on the 20%? Instead its always a cell phone camera or maybe a reporter calling them out.

I don't agree that 80% are "good".  But even the "good" ones cover up for the bad ones.  That means they're as big a piece of shit as the "bad" ones.

They can all go fuck themselves.

That was tough to watch, especially the death leg kick at the end.

Taser? Dog was semi aggressive but my poodle mix would do the same barking and charging and then lick the shit out of the cop. But, in his defense, he doesn’t know that. I guess. Still sad.

A tazer changes a dogs attitude real quick without killing them. Let them ride the lightning, legs straightened out stiff and falling over sideways like an unbalanced taxidermy piece. Once the ride is over the fear causes them to GTFO. Dog risk is gone and it's still alive.  That cop had plenty of time to use that option.
