July 29, 20241 yr Popular Post Super obvious which of crew were going to become dragon riders. I think it would have been cooler to have introduced one of the commoners earlier in the season who ends up getting barbecued. Would have at least been a little of a plot twist. Also... throwback to that time Big Tex tried to claim Deepfrye as his own dragon.
July 29, 20241 yr I thought it was a good episode but I'm not sure what Grace Randolph was thinking with the one of the best episodes line. It felt very old-school GOT with the young liege lord imposing Ned Stark justice on Daemon's man. Same with Rhaenyra sacrificing small folk towards a larger goal. I would've been amused if someone was able to claim a dragon and then fell off immediately to their death because I don't see how someone can immediately ride one and not die. I'm glad the two small folk they kept focusing on paid off. Bronze Fury looks like that will be a fun dragon to have go up against Vhegar. I also like Lord Larys plotting against Aemond. It's petty like Littlefinger but works towards a larger goal to eliminate the largest threat in the kingdom.
July 29, 20241 yr Young Tully making Daemon eat shit was the best part of the episode for me.* *It would have been Alicent skinny dipping, but she kept her damn clothes on.
July 29, 20241 yr So what is the current dragon count? Seems like 6-2, but I've probably missed something. Black: Daemon, Rheanyra, Jacaerys, then the 3 new riders Green: Aemond and his sister.

July 29, 20241 yr They mentioned that Daeron’s dragon Tessarion has taken to wing in the last episode. Finale preview trailer spoiler Spoiler It’s the blue dragon in the next episode preview. Edited July 29, 20241 yr by Dark Horse
July 29, 20241 yr Any show theories on where Otto is? The Reach is not in a good place right now. I’m mildly surprised Gwayne hasn’t been called home.

Cole is doing the Night King meandering thing. He'll show up when the plot is ready for him to show up. Until then just assume his army is just walking in circles at the moment.

July 29, 20241 yr So Team Black has 7 dragons, the best navy in Westeros, The North, The Riverlands, and about to gain an 8th dragon and The Vale. Team Green has 1 dragon, probably adding a 2nd dragon next episode, The Triarchy (?), The Reach (sort of), and The West. That’s not an even fight as it currently stands.
July 29, 20241 yr Personally, I would love a series about the mythology of the Night's King and the Night's Watch. I don't really care for the Targ stories.

I stand corrected. Helaena’s dragon Dreamfyre. I think she’s too basket case-y to command a dragon and fight in a battle right now. But we’ll see. Sunfyre is on the 60 day IL.

That was basically Bloodmoon right? They way GoT botched the white walkers, I am not surprised they went with dragons over white walkers.
July 30, 20241 yr This series more and more stupid. Fill me in on why these Targaryen’s can all burn? So now even half blood Targaryen’s can ride dragons and they don’t even have to have silver hair and violet eyes. You’ve got brothers in dreadlocks riding them now.

August 1, 20241 yr So now we have 3 moments where the war could have been ended if characters in the show acted like real people inhabiting a real world. (Rhaenys didn't dracarys the whole damn Green family when she popped up from the ground, Alicent didn't have Rhaenyra drawn and quartered when she showed up in King's Landing for being stupid just as much as to end the war, Rhaenyra didn't release the hounds when Vhagar rolled up to Dragonstone with 3 dragons with a whole lot of pent up energy from being on IR for who knows how long.) And 2 of those 3 moments were manufactured for something as petty as a hero shot, in total disregard for character and story. So bubblegum. I'm not going to miss a second of the finale because even bubblegum dragon porn is better than no dragon porn at all. Team Black. SIde note, I recently walked by the New York Stock Exchange and this was on the facade. Pretty cool.
