Is that Latin for “sheep fuckers?”

It was a follow-up to my previous post remarking on how many in this forum are busy planning their escapes from Texas while Rep Pearson was vowing to not go away and would keep fighting, which would leave our previously beloved state to the fuckhead fascists like on Texags. I thought the line was well enough known to be recognized by such an astute readership.

Illegitimi non carborundum is a mock-Latin aphorism, often translated as "Don't let the bastards grind you down". The phrase itself has no meaning in Latin and can only be mock-translated.

Of course not. Maybe a few grumbles, but the man fucking wins.

Edit: consider the fact that you have no recollection of it. It didn't even register. Football Uber alles

Whew, yeah.

Then a lot of rationalizing about “Oh it’s just for show! For recruiting!”.

Bullshit. The words don't end in 'ay'.

So, how many other states does something similar happen?  I have no idea of the rules and whatnot of other state legislative bodies, but you can be damn sure the GOP in those respective states are taking notes.

Remember a State senator in Florida filed a bill that would effectively ban the Democratic Party. He proposed it under the guise of banning any party that had ever supported slavery, which is ironic because the Republicans are now the party that is dedicated to preserving the “heritage” of the Confederacy. But as always, every accusation...

I’d like to see the names of the few who voted to expel the two black reps but not the white woman. Those fucks need to be identified.

Joe Biden won the Nashville area with 65% of the vote, yet it represented by three Republicans in Congress. We must outlaw gerrymandering.

If you watched this afternoon her defense was different than the other two and she was clearly making the case that she never yelled, spoke out, did anything other than walk with the other two. I would assume that will ultimately be what those 4-5 people hang their hats on as to why they voted differently in that case.

Jones has made the news several times for the way he has handled some things, so he was clearly getting voted out as retaliation for some of the other issues. That may have been the vote difference for the two between him and Pearson.

If you listen to Faison’s interview on CNN it tells you everything you need to know and hopefully people take that response and run with it.

She was spared expulsion  mostly because she was represented by two former members of that body.

But at least they ain't all them PAC-10 librul socialist cities on the Left Coast—like LA, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, all scenic cities with Hollywood, Disneyland (for those with kids), world class art museums, Big Sur, epic national parks, mountains, beaches with real waves, etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. Hell, LA and San Francisco are true global cosmopolitan metropolises, despite their well-known flaws/issues.

With Hollywood and Silicon Valley, LA and the San Francisco area literally changed the world on Planet Earth (I know, for better and worse). No reason for UT to align with anything out there — "What starts here changes the world."

So, yeah, let's head on down to the Deep South.

But time zones!!

Neo-Confederates, the lot of them. They want a pre-1955 America and are trying to see just how much rope we are going to give them before somebody says hold the fuck up.

You get it.

It's not much more complicated than this.  Well, a LITTLE more complicated.  It's also the display of power that the cowardly fascist types love to use -- crushing power used against the opposition, just to show them who's boss, and that I can do whatever I want to you, whenever I want, and never forget it.

Again....that approach works really, really well.  It's terribly effective.  Right up until the moment it's not.  And that's the moment you end up at an Esso station.

I like this idea as the first step for the counter-fascist movement.  We should definitely buy up some gas stations close to the fascist centers of the country (Florida, Texas, Tennessee, Idaho, etc.) and re-brand them old school Esso as a not-so-subtle warning of what comes next ...

Uvalde decided to double down on republicanism that bought and paid for the massacre and traumatization of their community.

Republicansim is anti-American Democracy.   There is only 1 American Party with any hope to change it.  You might not always agree with them but they are the only political party that accepts dissent it seems.

11 minutes ago, Biff Tannen said:

It is the proven way to deal with fascists.  You don't deal with people who have opted out of the rule of law by subjecting them to the rule of law -- they just ignore it.   That's the whole problem with opting out of the rule of law, and why the sane members of our society have been sounding the alarm for years.  When you opt OUT of the rule of law, you opt IN to the rule of the gun/blade/violence.  That's it.  Those are the two ways that human societies can operated.  By agreement, or by force.  When you void the agreement, you have necessarily opted into a system where the only rule is that of force.

So, they keep insisting on this.  With eyes wide open, they demand it.  Someday soon, someone's going to give them exactly what they've demanded.  And they will have nobody to blame but themselves.

Fuck all that. Just start carrying signs to protests printed up like old school Esso logos. It will take them some time, but eventually a nice, college educated librul will explain it to them so they can get all butt hurt about it.
