May 14, 20196 yr Speaking of other regionals, holy fuck at those scores in Pullman. The top 11 teams are all under par and 4 are double digit under par.
May 14, 20196 yr quite a few birdies in a row across the board for the horns just now...up to an 11 stroke lead. there are four teams under par in the austin regional (which is prettty stacked). there are 2 in athens, 3 in louisville, 3 in stanford, and 6 in myrtle beach. meanwhile, there are 11 teams in the pullman under par.
May 14, 20196 yr Top 20 squads currently not in qualification spots 2 Arizona State (very early in Round 2) 7 USC 10 Cal 13 North Florida 14 LSU (very early in Round 2) 15 Texas Tech 17 South Carolina (still on front 9)
May 14, 20196 yr Pierceson with a 2 on the par 4 13th. Guessing he decided to bomb it over the lake. From the tips, no less.

May 15, 20196 yr horns are on the last few holes and have officially blown this one out. they are 21 strokes clear of second place tcu at -25. tcu and clemson comfortably in 2nd and 3rd. the only intrigue left is the fight between arkansas, usc, and pepperdine in their fight for 4th and 5th to qualify.
May 15, 20196 yr Austin - #6, #30, #19, #7, #18 look like the top 5 teams moving on Louisville - #1, #11, #25, #21, #13 moving on Myrtle Beach - #23, #46, #3, #10, #34 moving on. #15 Tech missed the cut by 9 strokes. Athens - #16, #9, #4, NR SMU, #22 moving on Stanford - at the moment, #12, #26, #2 and NR Georgia Southern look to be in the best position - #24, #14 and NR Ole Miss are all fighting for the final spot. Pullman: #20, #32, #5, #41, #8 are all in the best position - only other contenders are #29 but they're 4 strokes back of the cut line Holy shit those Pullman scores for the top 7 -29 -28 -28 -25 -21 -17 -14
May 15, 20196 yr no more drama in austin, arkie melted down on 17 and 18 and usc finished strong. texas, tcu, clemson, pepperdine, and usc out of our regional.

If it was at Palouse Ridge. That is the type of course we need more of, very fun to play. Who cares about par? At the end of the tournament, only the sum of scores matter.

Just have the tournament at a driving range.

The tee ball is and has been a key part of golf. Point is that the scores show the course to be fair, regardless of final as relates to par. And it remains a fine college golf course, one of my favorites as it’s on campus & fun.

May 16, 20196 yr I'll go on the record that if we can't win it this year, I'll be rooting for the fightin'pickens.
May 16, 20196 yr Texas holds the current longest streak of advancing from regional play to the national championship - 13 Illinois has 12, no one else in double digits. The Big 12 alone: Texas - 13; OU - 9; OSU - 7; Baylor - 4
May 25, 20196 yr Horns done with two rounds and currently sitting in 6th with a chance to move up a little as the rest of the teams are still out there hitting + scores. Just need to make top 8. Okie state asserted itself as lion today...went -12 under. Aggies has a good day as well. Both appear safely into match play. Horns still need to TCB tomorrow.
May 26, 20196 yr Any more updates? Last I saw earlier today was Horns in 5th spot, but only a 4-5 stroke lead over the the 8th spot? Edited May 26, 20196 yr by LTtxfan

Found this link on Golf Channel website.... Looks like Horns are in a good spot to qualify, currently tied for 2nd. 🤘 Oklahoma State is dominating.... has 25 stroke lead over 2nd place..... WOW https://www.golfchannel.com/tours/ncaa/2019/ncaa-division-i-mens-championship-team
May 26, 20196 yr Yep! Looks like we’ll be just fine. We’re in the clubhouse at +13. The “cut line” is at +31. At least 11 teams would have to shoot 12 to 18 under today before we even get close to missing out
May 26, 20196 yr OKST looks to be head and shoulders above everyone else so hopefully that means they lose in knockouts
May 26, 20196 yr Horns are gonna finish second in stroke play but a very distant second behind okstate who destroyed the field in stroke. Good news is we won’t have to face pokes until the finals. Currently looks like we will match up in the first round of match play with the agros who had a pretty poor day today and dropped from 3rd to 7th. Still some teams out there but looking like: 1-okiestate 2-horns 3-stanford 4-blow u 5-wake forest 6-vandy 7-aggies 8-smu or Clemson

May 26, 20196 yr Thx TonyTexas..... "The field will be cut to the low 15 teams and top nine individuals not on those teams after Sunday’s third round. The individual champion is crowned Monday after 72 holes as are the top eight teams, who qualify for the match play bracket that determines the team national champion. " So still another day of stroke play (Monday) to qualify the Teams for Top 8 match play. Edited May 26, 20196 yr by LTtxfan
May 26, 20196 yr There’d have to be a 15 stroke swing for us to miss the top 8. Play smart and safe and we should hold onto the top 2 or 3 spot

May 27, 20196 yr Team is in good shape to make match play. Going into today, they have a 15 shot cushion over the 9th team. However, it’s important to play well today and lock up the 2 or 3 seed. Need to avoid the OK State super team as long as possible.
May 27, 20196 yr Looking like we’re headed for a match up with ags or ousucks. Should be good work television tomorrow!!!
May 27, 20196 yr the up and down from the bunker by Cole Hammer was ridiculous (not sure what hole; between 10-12). should be an ESPN Top 10 play of the day. he basically played it backwards to take advantage of a huge slope behind the green. put it to within 3 feet. if he had gone straight at the bunker, best he could have done was 8-10 feet. May 28, 20196 yr SMU's best player hits 4ft par putt too hard..... SMU and Clemson end tied for 8th spot at +44 SUDDEN DEATH BABY......
May 28, 20196 yr Playoff about to start on Golf Channel in 5 minutes. One Hole Playoff. Shotgun start on 5 different holes. All 5 player's scores from each team will count. (Still stroke play) Gonna be fun ..... Anybody else watching?? 😀 Edited May 28, 20196 yr by LTtxfan

May 28, 20196 yr SMU vs Clemson. (5 players stroke play -- tally all 5 scores) This shotgun sudden death playoff is fun to watch.... One player can really screw it up for their team if they have a Sergio-like blow-up on their hole... 😡 Edited May 28, 20196 yr by LTtxfan
